LOS ANGELES, California – March 3, 2016 – Inky – the Sink Buddy – is the first faucet attachment that makes it easier for children to wash their hands by themselves. It is a cute octopus device that can turn the water on and off with a simple, reachable switch. The first prototype is complete. Now Sink Buddies, LLC has turned to the crowdfunding community to bring this revolutionary solution to the masses. The creators launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise $85,000 by March 30, 2016.
Often children struggle to reach the faucet to wash their hands. Also, their arms are too short to turn the water on and off or control the water temperature properly. Even with a stool, the way a normal sink is built discourages many children from practicing good hygiene. With Inky, children can touch the octopus’ tentacle and receive a temperature-controlled stream of clean water. They can wash their hands effortlessly and safely like an adult would. This encourages excellent hygiene habits and keeps them safe from scalding hot water. Parents no longer have to run across the hallway to help their children wash their hands! People with limited mobility and special needs can also benefit from Inky – the Sink Buddy.
Future development (patent pending) includes an automatic off feature after 15 seconds of water flow. Additionally, Inky, the octopus, can be replaced with various licensed characters – including your child’s favorite princess or cartoon character.
