DETROIT, MI – 11/20/2017 — Sfumato Fragrances, a Detroit-based creator and purveyor of natural fragrances and scent experiences, today announced the opening of its flagship store. The shop’s holiday hours are noon-7pm Fridays and Saturdays, and 10am-5pm on Sundays through the end of the year as the build-out of the shop is finished. Expanded hours will be announced in January 2018. Sfumato Fragrances is located at 3980 Second Ave in Detroit’s Midtown.

Sfumato only uses natural ingredients extracted from plants, with no synthetic scent components. The company also voluntarily lists all ingredients in each of its fragrances to support customers who prefer to know what they are putting on their skin. 

In addition to Sfumato’s signature fragrances, the 650 sq. ft. shop offers additional products in the scent realm, including essential oils, incense, and books related to fragrance and cocktails. The company designs custom scents for individuals, businesses and events, such as weddings. The space also will serve as a venue for consulting, hosting classes, and be the company’s workshop. 

“Scent is everywhere, but we’d like to elevate the way people perceive it. The memory-scent connection is so powerful. We all have those ‘ah-ha!’ moments where we encounter a smell and it just brings us back,” said Kevin Peterson, co-founder of Sfumato Fragrances. “We’ve designed this store to be a sanctuary for the senses.” 

The retail shop will also be home to a craft cocktail bar, Castalia, focusing on fragrant cocktails inspired by the signature Sfumato scents. The cocktail bar grew out of a scent experiment to explore the connections between smell and taste, and will initially offer only ticketed events. A collection of cocktail bitters will also available for purchase.

The shop build-out was made possible through a $20,000 grant awarded by Motor City Match, and funding from Detroit Development Fund. 

Sfumato was founded in 2013 by husband and wife Peterson and Jane Larson.Peterson, the nose of the company, has a background in culinary arts and physics and creates all the company’s fragrances.Larson drives the brand’s visual aesthetic, and has worked in art and design as well as event planning.

“Our business is growing rapidly enough that we need a dedicated space for retail, the lab, meeting clients, and hosting events,” said Larson. “We couldn’t have found a better home and more supportive community.”

In close proximity to Selden Standard, Honest John’s, and Will Leather Goods, Sfumato’s store is housed in the garden level of a recently renovated 1880s mansion that also includes a clothing store, Detroit Clothing Circle. During the last century, the building was home to a diverse collection of organizations, including the First New Thought Church, a partially subterranean dentist’s office, an art school, and a boarding house. 

In addition to retail, Sfumato spearheads projects and events more broadly in the world of scent.Previous endeavors include an incense workshop at Eldorado in Corktown, a dinner pairing scent, food and drink at homewares store POST, a fragrant-cocktail bar takeover at Detroit City Distillery, and the development of a custom fragrance and incense for a cocktail at the Bad Luck Bar in downtown Detroit.

mCig’s eHESIVE Advertising Network signed an Exclusive Agreement with Hosting Company FlameNetworks

mCig, Inc. (OTCMKTS:MCIG), a diversified company servicing the legal cannabis markets, announced today that the company has entered into an agreement between OBITX, Inc., formerly known as GigeTech, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of MCIG and FlameNetworks to implement the proprietary eHesive Advertising Network with an Exclusive territory as an EU partner.

FlameNetworks is a hosting company founded in 2005 designed for high quality, cost-effective global hosting solutions, servicing over 20,000+ professional accounts comprising of multiple companies, web agencies and conglomerates / client websites and traffic, hosted from the company’s multiple data centers and a multi-layered network with capability over 700Gbps bandwidth.

The partnership enables FlameNetworks to expand their current offering by providing their paid hosting subscribers exclusive eHesive publishers accounts, to serve text, image and video advertisements to desired targeted audiences and website content. This software as a service, will also bring in many more websites as a result to publish and advertise.

This partnership and exclusive enterprise relation, goes inline with our global cannabis outreach and partnered initiatives, throughout North America, in United States, Mexico and Canada, and our international progress in Germany, Spain and Australia.
