The good news is that there is also a secret society of Guardians, invested with the power to detect and thwart the plans of these demons. They have used highly skilled beings called the Raptors to do the incredible job of protecting humankind. Unknown to humans, raptors live amongst them and protect them.

Ariel is a raptor in one of the big mid-western cities, and when Detective Frank Bishop is in grave danger of being killed by a demon, she has no choice but to come to Frank’s rescue, hence revealing her true nature to Frank. Now, as the pair works tirelessly to uncover the reason behind the disappearances of children and the homeless in the city, Frank is irrevocably drawn into the raptor’s world, understanding that she isn’t an ordinary woman. Now Frank is immersed in a world where light encounters the worst forms of darkness.

This is a beautiful story with interesting characters and an intriguing plot. I enjoyed the originality in the concept and in the plot, and there were moments I started believing that there are demons ruling among men, disguised as men, like some dictators this century has known. B.A. Bostick makes readers care about the characters and sells the idea of fighting for what is good in a brilliant way. The novel features great writing, a fast-paced plot, a huge conflict, and a setting that feels like some place readers already know. It was an enjoyable read.”

First cement poured at new luxury condo development near Thundering Waters

The cement is being poured for a new luxury condo development near Thundering Waters Golf Club.

The Upper Vista Luxury Penthouse Condo Collection will be the first luxury condo building in Niagara Falls, and comes with a price tag of around $100 million.

The first cement was poured last night at 11 p.m.

Joe Di Pasquale, construction superintendent for the project, said there will be about 2,500 cubic metres of cement poured in total, in an area roughly around 25 by 130 metres.

He said the 10-storey building will house 150 condo units, which will start at $761,000 and include a concierge, indoor pool, gym, party room and guest suite.

So far, 90 per cent of the condos are already sold, said Carol Han, assistant to the president of Evertrust Development Group, the project’s developer.

The group is offering a $50,000 buyer incentive, which can be used to purchase anything the buyer wishes, even towards to the price of the condo.

Han said the land was purchased three-and-a-half years ago by president Ted Zhou.

She said she remembers about  a year-and-a-half ago Zhou approaching Mayor Jim Diodati and suggesting Niagara Falls should one day be a destination for living, not just tourism, and that the area being so famous would attract people from all over the world to want to live in the city.

Zhou said in a release that “bringing a luxury condo to the natural wonder of Niagara Falls ON itself just seemed like a wonderful fit for us.”

“Besides the beauty of the structure itself, being in Niagara grants access to world class wineries, casinos, and of course world class golfing,” said Zhou.

Construction on the development began in July.

The Upper Vista Condos website says the building design is inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright’s Fallingwater, a home designed in 1935 which extends slightly over a 30-foot waterfall.
