The Caelum Gallery in Chelsea New Yok City is currently exhibiting selected works from New York’s hottest multimedia pop artist, Marko Stout. Highlighted at the show are paintings from the artists latest collection, “Fears and Deprivations”. The show is scheduled to open on 04/27/17 at New York’s popular Caelum Gallery.
The artist has been featured extensively across social and traditional media, with Splash Magazine calling Stout, “a modern day Andy Warhol” and an article in Paper Magazine, “If a list of coolest artists in the industry is to be made, Marko Stout would certainly sit at the top!” Marko Stout is best known for his gritty industrial pop style focusing on modern urban life in NYC. The Chicago Tribune calls his work, “dark, gritty and raw”. Stout is currently considered to be one of the most relevant and certainly the coolest New York multimedia artist around today. He especially enjoys great popularity among is loyal cult-like following of younger millennial generation fans. A recent Los Angeles Times article referred to Stout’s work as,” the chic, sexy detached attitude of a sophisticated 21st century urban dweller.” Marko Stout’s sculptures, experimental avant-garde films, installations and vibrant aluminum prints are exhibited at various international art galleries throughout the US and Europe.
Evan Carmichael featured an article on his blog stating, “Marko Stout’s reinvention of the pop art movement has excited many younger fans and he enjoys extraordinary popularity among the millennial generation.” That is very well said, especially as images of Stout’s works have gone viral on social media in the past year- especially after making news with the record-breaking sale of his colossal figurative sculptures at the ArtExpo Show in New York City to a Berlin art collector and nightclub owner last spring. It was the largest sale at the show and one of the biggest in the history of the Expo. Marko Stout has now gone beyond the art scene in New York City and is now featured in London, Berlin, Miami and other major international art cities.
Caelum Gallery was established in 1996, co-Directors Nicholas Bergman and Misuzu Takemoto had a vision of making their own constellation among the stars of the art world.
