The Miracle Behind Esther Destiny’s Jewelry

Jewelry Designer Ann Gray shares the truth about the decade old business for the first time.

Ann Gray, the founder of Esther Destiny’s Jewelry, released a live video on Facebook, which has subsequently received thousands of views about her struggle with a debilitating disease.  Ann started the business in 2006 but became very ill with Fibromyalgia and Addison’s disease, for which there are no cures, and they consist of excruciating pain and extreme chronic fatigue. “The pain was so bad, even my skin could not be touched,” said Ann.  Ann became bed-ridden and was prescribed the same high doses of pain medications that are given to cancer patients.  Ann explained that the only time she left the house was to go to the doctor and to Church.  Her wonderful husband and a Care Giver that visited daily did everything for her: cooking, cleaning, shopping, and laundry.

Ann was unable to do anything; however, she refused to give up or give in to this horror. Although the pain was unbearable, Ann would not simply lie in bed and watch TV, nor would she simply sit in a chair when attending Church. She stood and worshipped, giving God honor.  Ann continued her business, including creating silversmith jewelry from her bed with a fireproof bed table, although it took her a long time to design a jewelry piece.  Ann’s hope was in the promises that she had read in the stories in her Bible. 

Her customers still bought her designs, and an international business was built: Esther Destiny’s Jewelry.  Very few people knew that her jewelry was created in such agony, and Ann kept it that way.  It was her secret.  Then one weekend in January 2016, Ann was attending a Women’s conference at her Church: World Revival Church.  “I was praying for the visitors to receive a healing miracle, because we had visitors there from all over the world and all of a sudden, the pain simply left.  In a moment, in a ‘suddenly’ of God, it all left and I was sick no more,” said Ann.

Ann feels as if she has been given a new lease on life, and the business displays it.  Her “Delights of Turquoise Limited Edition Line” last fall was promoted by “Shop Hunting Divas”, a fashion magazine Blog in London, and this spring Esther Destiny’s Jewelry is expanding.

The spring jewelry line has just been released, and it is rather large, including bohemian, rustic, hippie styles with a touch of feminine delicacy.  In addition, much of the spring jewelry line is unisex, allowing for either women’s wear or men’s wear, expanding into men’s fashion.

Esther Destiny’s Jewelry is also adding two new lines of jewelry art to her jewelry and has hired an Assistant Designer, Bev Wheeler to help with the creation of these designs:

   a) Wedding tiaras, crowns, combs, barrettes, etc. (designed and crafted by Ann Gray)

   b) Infants and little girls’ headbands, hair bows, etc.

   c) Bohemian and floral style headbands

   c) Cutting edge trendy styles

Although the spring line has been released, the hair accessories and chokers are just being started, so keep watching for new styles to be released soon!

Small Business Magazine Trendsetters Magazine recently interviewed David Moyer, Owner of DepartSure Life Safety. He offered his insights on the need for annual fire door inspections and the training he offers building staff that would improve the overall fire safety of a structure, save lives and protect property.

Moyer noted that health care facilities are required to complete annual fire door inspections. Other facilities such as primary and secondary (K-12) schools, colleges and universities, public facilities, and all types of buildings need these annual inspections to meet code requirements.  His mission is to educate authorities, owners and facility managers on the benefits of annual fire door inspections, which are often overlooked.

According to Moyer, there are 11 detailed inspection points identified in NFPA 80 that need to be checked annually and brought into compliance on all fire doors. He said, ”facility staff are often trained in the fire door inspection process so they can prepare doors for inspection.” He noted that doing so will reduce inspection and long term maintenance costs.

During the interview, Moyer described that fire marshals and insurance company officials rely on the report of a qualified fire door inspector to ensure doors are operating properly, protecting life and property. “Inoperable fire doors put tenants, and the entire facility, at risk in the event of a fire or other catastrophe”, he noted.

Sailing Into A GREEN Solution for the Lionfish Invasion

As lionfish invade coral reef systems in the Atlantic, Caribbean and Gulf of Mexico, one Florida fisherman decides to bring them from the oceans to our tables.

 

After years of seeing first-hand how lionfish have impacted coral reef systems, Joe Glass founded Reefsavers, a non-profit organization focused on creating a centralized marketplace to streamline the acquisition and distribution of lionfish for consumers. Working with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, commercial fishers and other non-profit organizations, ReefSavers has launched a food tour throughout Florida featuring lionfish as the main ingredient.

To aid in their research, Reefsavers.org has launched a GoFundme campaign to help raise fund for a new research vessel. The vessel is an 1983 Morgan 60 schooner. The immediate plan is to repower the vessel with an electric motor and install a completely renewable power system consisting of Solar Panels, Solar Glass, Solar Sails, Solar Decking and wind generators. While the vessel is undergoing the refit, Reefsavers.org plan to take the vessel around the state and it will be used as the primary base of operation for the Lionfish Awareness Tour.

After the yearlong Lionfish Awareness Tour and the vessel refits are completed Reefsavers.org will take the GREEN Powered vessel through the Caribbean to South America, around the coast to Mexico finally rounding out the Gulf back to Florida. During this trip Reefsavers.org with be offering space to students studying the impact of the lionfish invasion to join the trip and conduct valuable study related research. Teaming up with other non-profit organizations and local co-op fisheries throughout the research trip Reefsavers.org will be conducting land based research geared toward commercialization of the lionfish in the local economies in an effort to help remove more lionfish from the waters and help control the populations.

Lionfish Invasion Tour will be visiting different Florida cities and putting this fish into the kitchens of your favorite local restaurants. The tour kicked off on October 1, 2016 with a soft launch and 14 patriating Gainesville restaurants creating cuisines ranging from Dentice Napoliand Lionfish Sushi to Southern Stuffed Lionfish as well as several other decadent dishes. Restaurants involved include Taste, The Top, Dragonfly and Amelia’s, just to name a few. Chefs are getting creative with making this mild-tasting, white flaky fish appealing to customers to create awareness and improve conservation efforts. After the successful completion of the first stop in Gainesville the tours next stop will be in St Augustine FL in April 2017.

Since the kickoff of the Lionfish Awareness Tour in October Reefsavers.org cash4lionfish.com program have been responsible for removal of nearly 10,000 lbs. of lionfish per month. With the majority of the lionfish being removed just off the Florida coast.

“We are working on efficient methods to remove invasive lionfish from oceans since the only way currently to catch them is through spearing and nets.. Incorporating lionfish into the seafood marketplace makes the most sense because they are great fish to eat,” explains Joe Glass. The Lionfish Invasion Tour is a fundraising event and proceeds will go towards the conservation efforts of Reefsavers as well as maintaining healthier levels of lionfish in open waters.Reefsavers.org is also currently working with other groups and organizations to help bring new innovative methods of removing lionfish to our waters such as traps designed to target lionfish as well as remote operated submersibles that are designed to remove lionfish.
