A new outdoor plaza, which was part of the renovation of the shopping center’s common areas, features gardens, a stretch of lawn where people can sit and a water feature with infinity edges.

Experience No. 1:

Guided Vineyards Tour & Tasting

This down-to-earth experience involves an intimate tour of Fogarty’s eight micro-vineyards covering 25 acres of ridge top and steep southeast- and east-facing hillsides on the property.

These 35 to 40-year-old organically farmed vines produce the small, allocated quantities of Thomas Fogarty’s award-winning, single-vineyard Chardonnay and Pinot Noir wines.

As you visit each of the eight vineyards you will learn about the history and organic farming practices of the winery, which dates back to 1978 when Stanford cardiovascular surgeon and world-renowned inventor, Thomas Fogarty, planted his first grapes and in 1981 established a commercial winery in the mountainous area.

Following the tour, you will convene in the proprietors’ tasting salon for a moderated tasting of current releases and selections from the winery’s library.

This tour takes about three hours, involves some light walking and climbing in and out of a military-style all-terrain vehicle. Participants are advised to wear comfortable walking shoes and active attire. The tour is limited to eight people. $500 per person.

Additionally, and at extra cost, you can end the day at Palo Alto’s renowned Zola restaurant, where Chef/Owner Guillaume Bienaime and winemaker Tom Fogarty Jr. will prepare a menu of dishes paired with Thomas Fogarty wines.

Experience No. 2:

Private Tasting in Proprietors’ Tasting Salon

Participants will enjoy a private tasting of Fogarty’s allocated current release wines and some choice library selections in the Proprietors’ Tasting Salon with either owner Tom Fogarty Jr., winemaker Nathan Kandler or cellarmaster Marshal White. The tasting will be moderated and the seven to 10 wines included will be chosen in advance based on your preferences and with your input.

This experience involves no walking, takes about 90 minutes, is limited to eight people and is $250 per person.

The Concierge can assist you in customizing your experience.  The Clement team is also happy to arrange Uber for an extra fee.

The Stanford University Package

Stanford University is one of the most prestigious and highly respected universities in the country. Its sprawling, tree-lined campus is also one of the largest and loveliest in the country and well worth a visit. • Dedicated in 1903, Stanford Memorial Church is at the center of the campus and is the University’s architectural crown jewel. It was one of the earliest, and is still among the most prominent, interdenominational churches in the West. It is open to visitors weekdays and on Sundays with ecumenical worship featuring choir and organ music.

• For the scientifically inclined, a trip to the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center just west of the main campus should be on everyone’s must-do list. The versatile astrophysics laboratory, which has more than 3,000 scientists, six of whom have been awarded Nobel Prizes, may be best known for its two-mile long linear accelerator, which is currently the longest in the world. Regular guided tours are available weekdays at the Visitor Center.

• If a little physical activity is more to your liking, The Dish is one of the most popular destinations for joggers and walkers on campus. Named after the prominent old radiotelescope that is visible throughout the area, The Dish offers a paved path that climbs the rolling hills and offers panoramic views of the surrounding area, including, on a clear day, San Francisco, Oakland, San Jose and the East Bay. The main loop is a 3.5-mile trail that takes about 90 minutes to walk.

AUSTIN, TX – 5 Jan, 2017 – The Garden City Community College Kansas Broncbusters ended their first perfect season by earning their first National Junior College Athletic Association title after beating #2 ranked Arizona Western in the El Toro Bowl in Yuma, AZ on December 3. The Broncbusters fought down-to-the-wire to pull in the win after trailing 22-19, with only 1:30 left in the fourth quarter. The final heart-stopping play, in the last thirty seconds, was a one-yard touchdown pass from QB Peyton Huslig to WR Harly Hazlett resulting in a 25-22 win for the Busters.

The Broncbusters hard work and dedication, along with great coaching, over the last year is the reason for the turn around in the team’s program. “I’m not surprised that we are here,” said team player Jayru Campbell, before the title game. “If you know the work that we put in, you would understand. Coach Sims brought us here,” he said.

Head Coach Jeff Sims has also been named the American Community College Football Coaches Association Coach of the Year, having brought the team from a 1-7 start only a year ago to an 11-0 record and conference title in only his second season at the college. He is the first Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Coach to win an NJCAA title.  “It is an honor to be named ACCFCA Coach of the Year,” Sims said. “It’s been a dream of mine since I went to my first AFCA Convention and attended the Coach of the Year dinner and saw all those great coaches being honored. I really appreciate the AFCA and my fellow coaches for giving me this great honor. It was a great year for Garden City, our staff, and our players.”

The team had a great season steamrolling over competitors, going undefeated for the first time ever. Home games were played at Broncbuster Stadium on Hellas Construction’s Matrix® Turf and Cushdrain® padding. Hellas installed the turf and padding in 2013, while completing other renovations including an X1000 epiQ® Track System, light systems, bleachers, a press box, field events area, fencing, and sidewalks. Demand Building in 2017 for Synthetic Roofing

LENEXA, KS – 5 Jan, 2017 – Increased homeowner interest in cool roofs and authentic-looking slate and shake roofing products will continue to spur the growth of polymer roofing products in 2017. That’s the prediction of roofing industry leaders at DaVinci Roofscapes®.

“We set new sales records for sales in California in 2016 as people prepared for the launch of Title 24 requirements in 2017,” says Ray Rosewall, president and CEO of DaVinci Roofscapes. “West Coast residents are clamoring for energy-efficient roofing products. Fortunately we were ahead of this surge by launching four new DaVinci EcoBlend® cool family colors earlier this year.”

The EcoBlend polymer roofing color options have all been approved by the Cool Roof Rating Council (CRRC) to reflect sunlight and heat away from a home or commercial structure, helping the building or home stay cooler in the summer and helping to lower energy costs. The new color blends all meet Title 24 requirements for California.

Reroofing Projects Rule

DaVinci offers seven different lines of simulated slate and shake roofing in 50 standard colors and a multitude of color blend options. Slate Gray, Tahoe and Mountain blends continued as favorites in 2016 for both residential and commercial  projects.

Two Factors Why Congress is Boosting Biotech

As indicated by the iShares Nasdaq Biotechnology Index (IBB), the biotechnology sector has begun to see a huge bump in attention now that President-elect Donald Trump is set to take office in January. But that’s not the only factor, President Barack Obama has also sparked attention as the approval of a new bill could give a large infusion of cash to companies in the space.

The U.S. Senate approved complex health care legislation earlier this month. The bill, $6.3 billion legislation known as the 21st Century Cures Act, is designed to provide funding for things like cancer research, the epidemic of opioid abuse, mental health treatment initiatives and what may be most important is that it helps the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) speed up drug approvals to push for better technology in medicine overall.

PPCH completed a 28 day toxicokinetic study in rats to measure the bio-distribution of their lead product, PRP, in relation to its toxicity over time.  Based on the positive results from the study, the Company announced commencement of a Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) Compliant 28 day repeat dose toxicity study in rats.  Once this pivotal study is completed, data will be used to support a clinical trial application in the UK, in 2017.

They’ve also executed a contract manufacturing agreement with AmatsiQBiologicals, based in Gent, Belgium. (CYTX) recently announced that it has surpassed the 50 percent enrolment milestone for its ADRESU trial in Japan. “ADRESU is a late phase, investigator-initiated Japanese clinical trial to study the efficacy and safety of Cytori Cell Therapy in men with stress urinary incontinence after prostatic intervention for prostate cancer or benign prostatic hypertrophy.” Cytori wrote in their recent news release.

Sangamo Biosciences, Inc. (SGMO) recently presented preclinical and manufacturing data that support SB-525, its gene therapy program for hemophilia A, at the 58th Annual Meeting of the American Society of Hematology (ASH) in San Diego.  Since the presentation, SGMO has been on a bit of a run.
