Court Ordered: Cartoon Series Based on the Life of Comedian Erik Myers

Los Angeles, CA – On February 29 2016, Tomorrow’s Nobody launched a Kickstarter campaign for Court Ordered, a new cartoon series that follows the trials and tribulations of a recovering alcoholic, drug addict. The show is loosely based on the life and stand-up of comedian Erik Myers and features stories from an all comedian cast and ongoing guest stars.

“Court Ordered is the cartoon I’ve wanted to make since I was a little kid,” says Eric Freedman, founder of Tomorrow’s Nobody, “A no-holds-barred series that takes aim at everything, and everyone, done so with some of my favorite comedians.”

Court Ordered is a show about down on his luck alcoholic, drug addict Erik Myers, who is sentenced to Rehab Group Therapy after being arrested for drunk driving. There, Erik meets an array of characters who help him on his journey to getting rehabilitated back into life. Court Ordered follows his struggles with the stresses of looking for work, dating, and dealing with everyday people, all while completely sober.

The cast of Court Ordered is made up of some great stand-up comedians, including Sam Tripoli, Stephanie Simbari, Craig Phillip Conant, Becky Robinson, and Jay Davis. Now Erik Myers, writer/producer Eric Freedman, and director/animator Tony Celano have turned to the Kickstarter community for help funding the production of an 11-minute Animated Pilot Episode to be released in September 2016.  

“We produced a short of the cartoon last year with the money we could pull together and everyone pitching in their time for free,” Freedman explains, “It was featured on both FUNNY OR DIE and NEWGROUNDS, and was very well received. That was just a small taste of what we are looking to accomplish with the series, both animation and story-wise. BUT WE NEED YOUR HELP!”

In exchange for pledging to the project, backers can gain access to a variety of rewards including a special edition Court Ordered Sobriety Coin and an HD Download of the Pilot for $15, digital access to updates, artwork, and special features plus a Google Hangout Q&A with the creators for $25, and more. Backers can also pledge $75 for a ticket to the cartoon’s official premier in Los Angeles and Arizona, where the comics will perform, or $100 to become a Court Ordered cartoon character!

Sewer Inspection 101: Why Homeowners Should Always Get a Sewer Inspection Before Purchasing

The typical home inspection that many new homeowners employ prior to purchasing does not include the structural integrity or condition of the sewer or septic lines.
There is so much forethought that goes into choosing the right home; however, what many prospective property owners overlook is the fact that they are actually responsible for much more than the walls and flooring that make up their home.

The homeowners tasklist of responsibilities span all the way down to the sewer line from the structure to the city main. Any malfunction to these sewer laterals can result in sewage backing up into the house, which can cause costly property damage to the home. This is not just a few hundred dollars worth of damage; but potentially thousands of dollars worth of property damage, which can be a very unpleasant and unexpected upset for a family that has just dropped quite a bit of money moving in.

In order to better understand just what an inspector should be looking for in a sewer line inspection, a prospective homeowner should know the difference between backups and backflows:

Backups:

A backup happens when waste or debris collects and obstructs a home’s plumbing system, which results in clogged, slow moving drains. The backup occurs on the homeowner’s property and the expense and responsibility of cleaning the backup and repairing the damages lie with the homeowner.

Most backups can be fixed with a plunger or plumber and will not cost more than a plumber’s cost.

Backflows:

Backflows tend to be much less common. They occur when water or waste materials come up through the drain in the sink, bathtub, or toilet when the home’s plumbing system is not being used. Typically this happens when the city main is blocked and wastewater is backing the home’s lateral line. When this happens, the local sewer sanitation district should be called immediately. Regardless of who’s responsibility it is, the homeowner must take action quickly in order to prevent the damage from getting out of control. Backflows can cause serious damage such as flooding the entire home. This can even cause a homeowner to move off the property during the restoration. The stress and hassle of dealing with the insurance company after the cost of restoration can be a major headache, especially after just having moved in. 

The typical home inspection that many new homeowners employ prior to purchasing does not include the structural integrity or condition of the sewer or septic lines. Hiring local plumbing services for inspecting the sewer lines and to perform a careful examination is a proactive way to make an educated buying decision, prepare for upcoming maintenance and properly budget for any necessary repairs.
