Missoula, Montana, United States – May 23, 2016 – Mack Johnson, an entrepreneur and mobile game developer, is launching a brand game call Happy Beard Man. The project began because Mack and his friend, the creators, were eager to create a unique indie mobile game. The game is about an old man who got struck in the beard by a ridiculously happy rainbow which gave him super happy rainbow powers with the ability to turn an evil city back to a happy place. A Kickstarter campaign was launched to gain community support and raise $15,000 by June 14, 2016. Funds received will be used to complete the production of the game.
There has been an increasing amount of low-quality games flooding the mobile gaming market which demonstrates the lack of passion many creators have for their products. Too many of them are solely money driven developments. The creators of Happy Beard Man are different. Not only is the game exciting, but it’s a piece of art. Every background, every scene, and every animation throughout have a purpose. They strive to provide optimal user experience. Instead of having annoying ads all over the place they create an option allowing users to watch ads in the “office” section, where they will be rewarded with the ability to unlock crazy new power-ups to use in the game. Happy Beard Man is one of the first mobile games to transform the environment around a user as they play. The evil city lies ahead of the main character, but once he can change the evil city, he leaves a happy place behind. As the main character run across rooftops, he encounters various obstacles such as flaming chimneys, cruel CEOs, and destructive blimps. By overcoming these obstacles, Happy Beard Man will leave behind delightful things such as hippos on unicycles and kittens holding balloons. Players can unlock various power-ups and costumes such as Pumpkin, Pirate, Cupcake, Astronaut, and much more by feeding the old man flapjacks.
