New Box Products releases newest re-design of their Safety Slider at the High Point North Carolina Furniture Show, a conclave of 800 manufacturers and designers of office and home furniture. The Safety Slider is designed to stop dangerous tip and falls, in the news frequently for hurting children and damaging property. “Previous solutions have been ineffective or prohibitively expensive in per unit price, we solve both problems with Safety Slider,” claims chief engineer Tom Muskopf.
In October of 2015, Alan Shafer, president of Alliant Marketing Solutions attended High Point Furniture Market Show, the premier office furniture manufacturer convention in the country with over 800 exhibitors meeting in High Point North Carolina, a show concentrating on new designs and free exchange of ideas in home and office furniture.
Shafer was at High Point representing a remarkable new product designed to stop tip and fall furniture danger caused by unsecured drawers, a new design from New Box Products. The New Box Safety Drawer is a patented Safety Slide that not only stops heavy filled drawers from falling out if furniture, if pulled to far, but the device can also be released for easy removal by adults. Company Engineer Tom Muskopf points out “the Safety Slide can be easily installed aftermarket, are extremely strong yet lightweight.”
Alliant research found that other products of its kind were both prohibitively expensive for many furniture products or flimsy and easily broken. Shafer commented “What was available was not 100% reliable, not biodegradable, and up to 10 times the cost of the New Box option.” Shafer Continues “Manufacturers involved in “case goods” furniture emphasized the need for auto stop with the absolute ability to stop the drawer at almost any weight, from pulling out of frame, with adult friendly quick release.”
New Box Engineers have re-worked designs to incorporate the improvements suggested by the manufacturers at the last High Point Furniture Convention. Tom Muskopf, Chief Engineer for New Box Products explained, “Our main concern as designers has always been safety, especially with major news stories revolving around faulty furniture hurting children, unsecured drawers falling from drawer frames and damaging property we felt we had the solution.” Muskopf continued, “Our initial solution was sound, but with the input from manufacturers at High Point, we were able to innovate our design even more to fit both the economy and the safety needs of both the manufacturers and the public at large.”
Alliant Marketing and New Box Products present the latest designs and working models of their Safety Slide product at High Point Furniture Market April 20, 2016 to the very manufacturers that suggested the upgrades. “Not many designers and engineers would take such a totally proactive design responsive to manufacturers,” Mr. Shafer added.
