Deep Root Records has announced a plan to double its growth in 2016, and the company is well on its way early in the year. Deep Root Records was recently ranked as the #2 label on Music Week’s Upfront Club Breakers (Week 35).
The NYC-based independent record label and entertainment company was founded in May 2015 by serial entrepreneur Ajamu Kambon and world-renowned producer Francis Mercier. Since its launch, Deep Root Records has delivered a wide range of electronic dance music, including deep house, future house, techno, breakbeat, and even pop and R&B, to NYC and the world. In addition, Deep Root Records has released and signed artists’ records to major labels and publishing companies, including Sony/ATV, Armada Music, Zulu Records, Ego Italy, Housesession, The Groove Society, and more. Their artists have been featured on radio stations including BBC Radio 1 & 6, Radio 105, Studio Piu, and Diffused Music Show 94.
Deep Root Records recently added an artist development division and manages artists including Francis Mercier, 1WayTKT, Dean Mickoski, POSSE, and Cossy. It also works with NYC artists MEMBA, AXAY, IMC, Sam Allan, and Miami’s Jeff Molner.
Deep Root Records has consistently gained steam in the NYC nightlife and music scene with their release of “Gravity” by POSSE, and their series of Deep and Future House Yacht Parties. Recently they became the youngest label to host Santos Party House’s New Year’s 2016 Party, among selling out a secret showcase soon after. Their artists have headlined and shared the stages with artists like Oliver Heldens, Chainsmokers, R3hab, Ansolo, Tommy Trash, Afrojack, Lil Jon, and Thomas Gold at major clubs and concert venues such as Pacha NYC, Space Ibiza NY, Marquee NY, Lavo NYC, PH-D, Santos Party House, and Highline Ballroom. Deep Root Records is now planning to add more artists to their roster while planning a second European tour, another Yacht party series, and more.
“So I started Deep Root Records, not because of the money, fame, and sake of starting a business. I did it because of my love for good music and my ability to see talent within musicians and artists, who I believe can use their music to become an integral part in transforming music culture,” said Kambon.
Deep Root Records is excited to see their company in the top rankings for Music Week’s Upfront Club Breakers, and their team is proud of the explosive growth they’ve witnessed since their launch. They look forward to creating even more exciting, dynamic events for fans while offering a viable platform for rising artists.
