On Thursday February 11, 2016 from 10pm until 4am, Freedom Williams presents, “The Aquarius Celebration” being held at Stage 48 in the Midtown section of Manhattan hosted by well known Comedian Brooklyn Mike. Celebrity Guest Host and performance by hip hop legend Talib Kweli and pop star KMC.
“The Aquarius Celebration” is the brainchild of Freedom Williams , former frontman of iconic group C+C Music Factory . Freedom was born February 13, under the sign of Aquarius, and truly embodies all the traits of that sign, fun loving, impulsive, eccentric, deep thinking, humanitarian and artistic.

Freedom, an avid star gazer and practitioner of astrology reasoned one fateful day while staring at a sign in midtown Manhattan displaying the horrendous statistics of teenage homelessness that wouldn’t it be a great idea to throw parties and raise funds and awareness for the then 20,000 homeless teens in New York City. The statistic he reasoned was absolutely staggering in a city of so much wealth and opulence.
Thus the Aquarius celebration was born. Freedom himself was homeless when he wrote his seminal track Everybody Dance Now. Freedom’s Annual “Aquarius” birthday celebration has for 9 years celebrated life, love, unity, togetherness, merriment and giving back. some of his closest friends and celebrities have previously attended. Some of the celebrities who have attended and or performed have been rappers MIMS, Roxanne Shante, Chubb Rock, Grand-Master Caz, Melle Mel, Actor Darrin Henson, Keith Murray, some of the ladies of Mob Wives, UTFO, Awesome 2, Lords of the Underground, Celebrity Manager Sal Albitiello, Treach from Naughty by Nature and DJ Jazzy Jay to name just a few. At the third annual Aquarius event, Freedom brought in fellow aquarius rapper/actor Ice T and his wife Coco.
Various locations for the Aquarius event in the past have been Grand Street, Yotel Hotel, The Canal Room, BB Kings, and The Flatiron Hotel (Toshi’s room)
In 2014, Freedom created the Aquarius Give Back and partnered with NY Youth @ Risk, now called NY Unlocking Futures and created the Aquarius award for Consciousness and the Humanities, this award goes to an artist who has displayed a tenacity to create within a framework of trying to uplift his fellow man, Bob Marley, would be the prime example for this award who is also Aquarius. The first award was presented to the Emcee/Rapper known as “The God Emcee”, Rakim. This event was held at Toshis room, Rakim his wife and daughter gracefully appeared and accepted the award designed and created by Freedom Williams.
The proceeds of the last two Aquarius awards events went directly to NY Unlocking Futures to help with their quarter century cause nurturing and mentoring NY’s homeless and less fortunate youth. nyunlockingfutures.org in 2016 Freedom Williams is not only celebrating his ninth annual Aquarius celebration and bash but he is also celebrating his 50th birthday. Stage 48 is an absolutely stunning venue holding upwards of 1,500 people on two floors. This year Freedom has teamed up with JT Talent, Ryan Shemen’s Success With Teamwork and Triple SSS Entertainment, and a few others to make this the event of all Aquarius events. Special guests this year will include Adesola Osakalumi (from the Broadway Play FELA), JD Williams (“Bodie” from The Wire and Oz), Cheryl Pepsi Riley, The Awesome 2, Dj Marley Marl, Roxanne Shante, Heather Hunter, DJ ENUFF, Jacci MaGhee, Daddio from Stetsaonic, the original American Gangsta Mr. Frank Lucas and his son Frank Lucas Jr.and Major Surprise guests. Kareem Huggins from NY JETS (take out Giants only the NY JETS) and CEO of the KH Collection…where selected Jewelry from his collection will be raffled off for charity.
