If you do not have a chip embedded card now, you will shortly.  Chip cards are now the rule instead of the exception.   Why you may ask, did we have to do this change?  

In a word, FRAUD!  And surprisingly enough, the United States is the last modern country to adopt this simple yet effective system for credit card processing. 

Several things to take note of if you are a merchant or just using your card to purchase goods and services:

• 31.8 million US consumers had their credit card information stolen last year – almost 3 times more than had been stolen in 2013.  According to a report from Barclays earlier this year, almost half of the world’s credit card fraud occurs in the US.

• You can still use your magnetic stripe cards if you have them, but beware of any store that forces you to swipe your card as opposed to “dipping the chip”.  Old terminals will be even more susceptible to hacking until they are upgraded.

• Tough luck for online shopping:

 ○ There are still limitations to these new cards.  EMV chips will prevent a thief from making a copy of your card but it will not stop them from stealing your online payment credentials. NerdWallet found that online fraud in the UK has risen 120 percent over the last 10 years.  Consumers need to be diligent in their online shopping and make sure you are on a reputable site.

 ○ For merchants, the banks are no longer responsible for fraudulent transactions that happen in your business.   If you do not follow protocol, and fraud occurs, your business can be liable for the entire amount of the transaction.

Finding the perfect merchant services provider can be an overwhelming experience.  Who do you choose?  How do you choose them?  How do I know I have made the correct decision?

United Card Solutions has 5 questions and guidelines that can help you with your search.

1. Ask your perspective processor questions. 

Please consider Customer service:  Are they easy to get hold of with a toll free number?  What are their hours of operation?

What is their track record like?  Is their website professional and easy to navigate?  Do they have a good online reputation from previous customers? 

2. Know and be comfortable with their fees.

Different merchant service providers have widely different fees.  Make absolutely certain that you know the fees and they are reasonable, but, beware of overly-reasonable fees.  If you are being offered substantially lower rates than all the other companies in the industry, do not take the bait.  You are almost always guaranteed to get hit with hidden fees down the road.

3. Stay away from Banks

Stay with a true merchant service provider rather than a bank.  There are actually no real advantages to using a bank in this internet age.  Most banks lack the latest technology that can provide a top notch merchant account, especially if you are involved with e commerce and wireless activity.

4. Watch out for Caps

Make sure your merchant services provider does not have a cap on your monthly volume.  If you are having a record month, and then you are not able to process CCs because of a cap on your volume then your business could be ruined in a matter of days.  Take the time to find an account that allows for maximum flexibility month to month.

5. Extra Questions:

How long have they been in business?

Does the staff have the level of experience to provide top quality care for your business?

Are you comfortable with your rep and how they treat you?  That will be great indication of the type of service you will receive.

May God help the FBI and Department of “Justice” to hold Hillary accountable for all the lies and misuse of her office as Secretary of State. If one does a little research, the picture is appalling. The last thing we need is someone who supports policies of the last seven years.

Was Rivers’ demise a shocking event that could never have been predicted because it was such an anomaly? Not at all. As NBC News reported; “Doctors perform about 8 million upper GI endoscopies every year in this country. They are very common but they also entail risks…”

How risky are they? There is approximately a .5% risk for “cardiopulmonary unplanned events” – with a percentage resulting in fatalities – and this risk is elevated for older patients like the famed comedian. At 8-10 million upper endoscopies performed per year in the USA, we are talking about 50,000 people annually who suffer these complications.

This is especially tragic in the Rivers case because, in TransNasal Esophagoscopy (TNE), a safe, effective and cheaper alternative to sedation upper endoscopy exists-but its use is restricted by vested interests that stand to lose billions of dollars if patients begin to opt for TNE instead.

As NBC reported after Rivers’ untimely demise:

“There are two ways to examine the esophagus. One uses a skinny scope inserted into the nose. The patient is seated and not sedated. Another way inserts a larger scope in the mouth with the patient lying on his or her side under IV sedation. Today I spoke with Dr. Jamie Koufman who says it’s important to avoid sedation especially with older patients because of the risk involved. Almost all complications are related to the use of anesthesia.”

A prominent medical web site underscores this point: “There are risks associated with anesthesia, and preparations by the health-care team and patient are two ways to minimize the risks. The dominance of the use of sedated endoscopy can be simply reduced to one salient factor: money. The facilities where sedated endoscopies are performed receive a facility fee of up to $3,000/procedure. So, at revenues of 30 BILLION per year, the facility owners/managers have a strong financial “disincentive” to offer an unsedated exam that does NOT require a facility. Conservatively, over half of the sedated endoscopies performed annually can be performed in a physicians office using TNE without sedation, thereby saving the health care industry over 15 billion per year. 

Money, of course, isn’t everything, but the use of TNE has other important non-monetary benefits as well. TNE is performed with the patient wide awake, sitting upright in a chair in a doctor’s office, gives the same information, and is as well tolerated as traditional upper endoscopy. The patient can walk out of the office as soon as the procedure is completed because no sedation is necessary. The public has a right to know about alternatives when sedated endoscopy is suggested by their doctors. It is reported that up to 125 million Americans suffer from acid reflux disease, and esophageal cancer due to acid reflux is the fastest growing cancer in America and Europe. Upper endoscopy is performed to make the diagnosis and it is imperative that the monetary wall of silence be forcefully breached.  

What we need are legislative investigations into the existence of a medical cartel that is actively conspiring to restrict the public’s knowledge and therefore the use of the TNE alternative. If collusion can be proven, law enforcement needs to become actively engaged.

Lastly, we need the media to step up so that the untimely death of Joan Rivers can have a positive outcome as more and more patients and their doctors resist the cartel’s insistence on the use of sedated endoscopy. Dr. Jonathan Aviv, a long time and forceful advocate of TNE, makes the case-and he deserves the last word:

Online Reviews are Three Times More Influential to Women Than Advertising

According to new research by ReviewTrackers, American women find online reviews and an article about a product more influential than advertising when making a purchase decision.

CHICAGO, IL – 26 Jan, 2016 – Online reviews are three times more influential to women than advertising when making a purchase, according to new research by ReviewTrackers. Out of a sample of 500 women, 54.6 percent said online reviews are the most influential when making a purchase while 17.4 percent said an advertisement is the most influential.

The survey also found 19.3 percent of women trust an article about the product more than an advertisement, and 8.7 percent of women said salespeople are most influential when deciding on a purchase.

“Our research shows women are taking reviews seriously when making a purchase decision,” said Chris Campbell, CEO of ReviewTrackers. It’s important for businesses to take customer feedback seriously and listen to the voice of the customer.”

The results are surprising as many businesses spend between 9 to 12 percent of their annual budget on advertising alone. What’s more, 50 percent of Americans don’t even trust advertisements, according to research by YouGov.

The research was conducted through Google Consumer Surveys on Jan. 6 through Jan. 8, 2016, with a sample of 500 women ages 25 to 54 living in the United States. The margin of error is 4.4 percent of lower.

US-UK Defeats Iran-ISIS in Daniel’s “Time of the End” Prophecy After Jerusalem Destruction: Ruhling

Historians say Daniel’s prophecy of a goat smashing a ram was Alexander the Great, but they overlooked Gabriel saying it was “the time of the end” when the Medes and Persians are Iraq and Iran-ISIS. This gives Daniel new meaning of end of time, but something goads the goat to fight the ram. Daniel’s 9th chapter has a decree to rebuild Jerusalem, implying a 3rd Intifada as in the 14th of Zechariah, says Dr. Richard Ruhling, author of The Alpha & Omega Bible Code.

He offers the following:

PRESCOTT, AZ – 26 Jan, 2016 – Not Allah, but the God of the Bible says, “Who is like Me, declaring the end from the beginning.” In the 22nd chapter of beginnings (Genesis), Abraham sacrifices a ram to spare Isaac, father of Israel. Now, “at the time of the end,” a ram will be sacrificed to spare Israel, as seen in the 8th chapter of Daniel.

• Daniel was in the palace at Shushan, but “I saw in a vision and I was by the river Ulai.” Librarians say the modern name is the Karun River by Kuwait where U.S. troops deployed against Iraq, 2003.

• Alexander’s victory at Arbela was 700 miles away. Daniel’s vision fits our time better.

• The coalition formed by Bush was called a GOAT-Global Organization Against Terrorism.

• A goat “came from the west on the face of the whole earth.” (King James Bible) The U.S. coalition came from Korea, Australia, S. America, Canada, Europe – “the whole earth.” Alexander did not.

• The goat “touched not the ground.” Desert Storm was the first war fought largely in the air. Alexander had no choice of planes. The imagery fits “the time of the end.” Persia is now Iran.

• Islam may wonder why God would allow “the Great Satan to conquer militant Islam when we have brought alcohol, tobacco, Hollywood, crime, sex, violence on TV, and appear to favor abortion, homosexuality, things that the Bible condemns, but Daniel’s prophecy is about who He sees will win, and America will have its time of judgment soon as the US “horn” is broken.

• But first it must go to war against Iran. What triggers the goat’s anger when Obama seems like a brother to the Muslim Brotherhood? The 14th chapter of Zechariah offers woe for Jerusalem. “All nations” (Arab/Muslim) are gathered against Jerusalem; half the city goes into captivity. Goat anger and militant reaction could imply Islam’s betrayal of an agreement for peace.

• This information shows the God of the Bible as the true God who knows the end from beginning.

• Because of an end-time application of Daniel, we re-look at the 7th chapter of Daniel to see “four king[doms] which shall arise out of the earth.” The lion with eagle’s wings can be seen by the symbol of the UK and US; the bear is Russia; the leopard with four heads could be an alliance of China, Korea, Japan, Thailand, and the dragon with 10 horns could be the European Union. The papacy is the little horn as the Protestant reformers saw it growing out of the Roman Empire.

Ruhling says the destruction of Jerusalem is the next big prophetic event and he expects it this spring because of five ‘when-then’ signs from last year, adding that when we see it, it’s a heads up signal because judgment then turns to America.
