ONTARIO, CANADA – 17 Oct, 2017 – Dale R. Mudt, P.Eng. Manager, Process Automation for Suncor Energy Inc. was selected as Top Engineer of the Year for 2017-2018 by the International Association of Top Professionals (IAOTP), for his outstanding leadership and commitment to the industry

While inclusion with the International Association of Top Professionals is an honor in itself, only a few members in each discipline are chosen for this distinction. With over 3 decades of professional experience as a seasoned and trusted Engineer, Dale has certainly proven himself as an accomplished professional and expert in the field.  He has demonstrated success not only in chemical Engineering and Petroleum Refining but has also been a successful in the Food, Mining, and inorganic chemical industries.  His impressive repertoire of prior roles includes Process Engineer for Cambrian Engineering, ERCO, EPCM Services Inc and now as Manager, Process Automation for Suncor Energy Inc.  Dale’s key responsibilities include managing a group of DCS Specialists, Applications Engineers who implement Multivariable Model based control and Real Time Optimization, and a team of Process Systems Specialists.

Dale was born November 29th in Edmonton, Alberta Canada and received his BSc with Distinction in Chemical Engineering from the University of Alberta in 1977.

Throughout his illustrious career, Dale has been active in his community and recognized worldwide for his outstanding leadership, research and commitment to the profession. He has received many awards, accolades’ and has been featured in publications and magazines.  For 2018, he is being considered for the Lifetime Achievement Award by the International Association of Top Professionals and to be featured in TIP (Top Industry Professionals) Magazine.  He has received “Industry Leader Biography” by Strathmore Who’s Who.  For 2017 selected as Top Engineer of the Year by the International Association of Top Professionals.  He is a member of the Canadian Society of Chemical Engineers (CSChE) as well as the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE). He is also a registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng) in Ontario, Canada.

Aside from his successful career, Dale is also a published author and sought after speaker and lecturer.  He has lectured on Advanced Control Optimization, Safety Systems to 4th year engineering students; Presented “Refinery Real Time Optimization, On the Road for 25 Years at the Manufacturing Technology Network Conference in November 2010.  He has also authored a number of professional articles and publications. Among his many publications are Practical Advances in Petroleum Processing ed Chang. S. Hsu and Paul R. Robinson, Chapter 23-Refinery Wide Optimization with Rigorous Models, Dale R. Mudt et al.

The President of IAOTP, Stephanie Cirami stated that “Choosing Dale for this award was an easy decision for our panel to make.  He is brilliant, his list of accomplishments and accolades are beyond impressive, he is active in numerous organizations and affiliations, he was exactly what we were looking for.  We know we will be seeing more outstanding things from this man and hope to spend time with him at the gala.”

Looking back, Dale attributes his success to his experience, mentors he has had along the way and staying passionate in all his endeavors.  Dale says he has been blessed, he loves doing what he is doing, and feels this is just the beginning.  When he is not working Dale enjoys traveling, reading, and enjoying life with his wife Janice, who he has been married to for 36 years, and their pets.  For the future, Dale will continue to serve as a mentor in the Engineering and Refining industries and hopes to inspire others in the field anyway that he can.

Husband-Wife Team Belt It Out to Gel(l) Passion and Purpose

SOUTHPORT, CT – 18 Oct, 2017 – The goal of Ashley and Richard Perkin was to create a business that gelled together their commitment to philanthropy, past experience and entrepreneurial drive.  Leveraging Ashley’s background in fashion and Richard’s in business, they designed a line of colorful belts for the whole family and launched Gells.  Why start with a belt?  Richard says the ultimate goal was to bring attention to the causes they support, “We found that because of the designs and colors, our belts served as a good conversation piece – thus creating a platform to raise awareness about causes we feel strongly about.”  5% of all sales is donated to charitable organizations they have partnered with.

Breast Cancer Alliance (BCA) is one of their Partner Charities.  Ashley and Richard have unfortunately been affected by Breast Cancer with Ashley’s grandmother and Richard’s mother both being diagnosed.  Says Richard, “My mother was having surgery for breast cancer on the same day and in the same hospital as the birth of my first son.  I literally was taking an elevator between recovery rooms.” According to BCA Executive Director Yonni Wattenmaker, “Not only have we been the beneficiary of proceeds, through their marketing they have built some awareness about our cause.  They have donated belts to events of ours and always try to attend our events, as well.  They could not be nicer to deal with and we are so appreciative.”

A Midlands-based international removals firm has said it plans to expand its business after posting record turnover of £6.8 million in its tenth year.

Movecorp has enjoyed phenomenal growth since its inception with its workforce expanding from three employees to more than 100 in the last decade and turnover growing by £2.2 million in the past five years.

Formed in August 2007, Movecorp is gearing up for its tenth anniversary and to celebrate bosses have announced a number of exciting new plans for the future.

Among them is a new warehouse and office complex of 38,000 sq ft to be opened within the next 12 months, allowing the business to deliver a new range of services aimed at helping online retailers distribute stock across the UK and Europe.

And bosses have also set their sights on a new depot on the M25 within the next three years to continue to drive growth by offering new services that work alongside the firm’s current transport and storage facilities.

Founder and company director James Tennant said the expansion plans are a testament to the impressive growth of the business since it was formed and the continuous focus on delivering a first-class service to its growing portfolio of clients.
