While inclusion with the International Association of Top Professionals is an honor in itself, only a few members are chosen for this distinction based on their years of experience in the field, professional accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership abilities, and contributions to their communities. These are truly incredibly talented professionals who have dedicated their life to their work and have had a lifetime of achievement and success!
Carolyn is being recognized for this achievement for having over 2 decades of professional experience in the financial industry and for her outstanding leadership and commitment to the field. She will be honored at IAOTP’s 2017 Annual Award gala at the Ritz Carlton in Battery Park NYC, and presented with the engraved Sapphire Diamond Crystal Tower for her Lifetime of Achievement & Success. Carolyn was also selected as Top Executive of the Year in the Financial Industry for 2017 and will be awarded the Jade Crystal Desk piece.
Originally a classroom science teacher for 17 years, it wasn’t until 1993 when Carolyn started to see the need to resolve her own financial issues. She became very interested in wealth management and began studying all aspects of the field. Feeling that she had found her calling, she took her passion for teaching to the financial services industry. Carolyn’s impressive repertoire of roles in the financial services industry began with Equitable/AXA Financial. Initially, she utilized her education background to specialize as a retirement planning consultant for teachers and non-profit organizations. Prior to founding Pegaesus Advisors, Inc., and SeaCure Advisors, LLC, Carolyn co-founded another registered investment advisory firm that she sold in 2001.
Throughout her illustrious career Carolyn has been recognized worldwide for her outstanding leadership and commitment to the profession and has been featured in numerous newspapers and magazines such as the Boston Globe and was quoted in the Wall Street Journal. For 2018 she is being considered for an article in T.I.P. (Top Industry Professional) Magazine and in 2017 & 2016 she was selected as Top Financial Planner of the Year by the International Association of Top Professionals. In 2016 she was selected as Outstanding Professional of the Year by the Worldwide Association of Female Professionals and inducted as a lifetime member of Who’s Who.
Aside from her successful career, Carolyn has volunteered in various community service organizations over the years and is a sought after speaker. She has taught retirement planning at Technical Development Corporation, a management institute serving non-profits in Boston and New England. She has been a continuing education instructor for CPA’s, attorney’s, and CFP’s in Massachusetts. Carolyn has had memberships in the Institute of Estate Planners, American Association of Individual Investors, National Association of Investment Clubs, International Association of Registered Financial Consultants, Inc., and the MIT Women’s League Financial Group. She believes she had a true calling for this work since her late husband, Jack Howard, died in 2008 from brain cancer. One of Carolyn’s hobbies is sewing where she has worked with the Dorcas Society in Sarasota, FL, making clothes for young underprivileged girls. Carolyn has also volunteered for the Bluegrass Trust for Historic Preservation committee for their annual antique and garden show. Her goal this year is to volunteer at a charter school for underprivileged children in FL helping the Mothers with their financial literacy.

When Carolyn is not working she enjoys music, art, historic preservation and restoration, gardening, and swimming. She resides with her husband, Albert Kelley. She is the mother of two adult children, Courtenay and Jonathan. She is also “Mimi” to two beautiful granddaughters.
