NASHVILLE, TN – 14 Jul, 2017 – Beginning Thursday, June 29th – July 2nd, thousands will gather at Cornerstone Nashville to celebrate America’s freedom with Nashville’s largest indoor fireworks display, a huge balloon drop and a state-of-the-art laser light show… all held within the confines of the church auditorium!

The show runs on Thursday, June 29, through Sunday, July 2.

Mars’ fascination with the Golden Age of American popular culture began at a young age and remains the focal point of his work today. He creates heavily layered mixed media pieces celebrating the icons of the 1950s and 1960s. Mars honors vintage ephemera while maintaining a clean, modern design aesthetic in his work.

Stephen Wilson has been a long-time leader and educator in the fashion and home embroidery industries. He made the jump to contemporary embroidery artist and has found success in blending his talents from his experience in the commercial fashion industry and his lucrative embroidery software company. Combining luxury fabric, 3D-printed sculptures, laser-engraved acrylics, and highly detailed embroidery pieces, Wilson’s manipulation of multiple materials produces wholly original works of art.

How Young Computer Techie Dominated South Florida Tech Space

SOUTH FLORIDA – 14 Jul, 2017 – By age 12, Andrew Scott was going to garage sales to buy broken computers, rebuilding and fixing them to resell. He’d had a passion and talent for everything computer-related. After graduating from Caesar Rodney High School, he said he thought he wanted to be a park ranger due to his other love – the environment. He did a brief stint in Environmental Law Enforcement in Delaware Seashore State Parks before he relocated to Fort Myers, Florida in hopes of attending Florida Gulf Coast University to major in the same.

Remembering well his middle school business ventures when he was making more money selling computers than his parents, who had government jobs, to get the resources he needed for college, he knew he would have to do what he knew best – working with computers. At age 18, he started what would now be the premier source of tech services for the who’s who of the Florida business world. 

“I remember my very first computer sale appointment, with a nice couple in a poorer neighborhood in San Carlos Park,” Scott said. “It would have cost them $400 or more to fix the computer, so I told them it would be best to buy a new one.” While Andrew walked away with hundreds of dollars in a deposit, along with the client’s PC, realizing he failed to leave behind good contact information, he honored his word and returned the next day with a brand new computer. The couple was waiting for him when he arrived, obviously relieved with his honesty that he came back. 

In 2008, as Scott got a little better with marketing, he became so busy he decided to run an ad for an additional team member to help with the technical aspects. He thought he’d have a few people show up to his “open house” styled interview.  There were 45.

“There I was standing in front of this huge crowd not knowing what to say!” Scott said. But he successfully made his pitch, interviewed a dozen candidates and hired now longtime friend and Romanian Andrei T. who was extremely versed in IT and spoke six languages. After that came someone to run the office. And the rest, as they say, is history.

South Florida Tech Group, Scott’s brainchild, has enjoyed being the largest IT Consulting business in South and Central Florida and has reached close to $10 million in sales since inception. The five-month program, which begins on September 18, 2017 and concludes on February 23, 2018, will be held at the school’s headquarters, located at 25104 Rye Canyon Loop, Santa Clarita, California. 

Enrollment is open to all military veterans, their spouses or dependent children. Enrollment is also open to students with no military affiliation or experience who prefer a classroom environment as opposed to an online course.

Students use what they’ve learned in the classroom during their hands-on experience working with dogs at Best Friends Animal Society of Los Angeles. 

“The hands-on portion of the program gives students practical experience in real life situations,” Mason said. “Once they meet all program requirements and graduate, they become ABC Certified Professional Dog Trainers [ABCDT], who go on to make a difference in the lives of many owners and their canine companions.”

The course is taught by Beth Harrison and her assistant, Chris Gant. Both are distinguished ABC Certified Professional Dog Trainer-Level 2 (ABCDT-Level 2) professionals, which is the school’s highest certification level. Dog trainers who achieve Level 2 status have demonstrated professional prowess and a mastery of canine behavior and learning theory. Ms. Harrison has been a professional dog trainer for more than 15 years and specializes in helping canine rescues who have obsessive-compulsive disorders or who suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder. Mr. Gant, a former Marine, has been a professional dog trainer for more than 5 years and specializes in canine sheepherding, socialization and agility training.

ABC’s Certified Dog Training In-Classroom Program is approved for veterans and eligible individuals under the provisions of Title 38 of the United States Code under the following programs:
