Five ‘When-Then’ Signs Support Apocalyptic 2016 – Flee Cities, Says Bible Prophecy Expert Dr. Ruhling

Five biblical signs, not to mention our severe weather or failing economy, are ominous for 2016 says Dr. Richard Ruhling, author and speaker on biblical end-times, adding that fleeing the cities is suggested by five biblical models.

PRESCOTT, AZ – Dec 29, 2015 – “Most Bible scholars agree with a 7-year apocalyptic period, like the 7 years of famine in Joseph’s time or the 7 years that King Nebuchadnezzar ate grass while his kingdom was humbled in Daniel – the book recommended by Christ when asked about the end of the age in the 24th chapter of Matthew,” says Ruhling.

1. That chapter also cites Christ as saying that end-times would be “as the days of Noah.” Noah separated from those who mocked God and the impending destruction when he entered the ark seven days before the Flood. The Bible supports the possibility of a flood of refugees and the seven days for Noah can mean years because the 4th chapter of Ezekiel supports “each day for a year” re prophetic events. The Flood in Noah’s time was the first biblical model of widespread destruction.

The first 2015 omen for the biblical year that begins in the spring was the “rare” solar eclipse on the equinox and the blood moon two weeks later on Passover. “The sun shall be darkened and the moon turned to blood before the day of the Lord.” The last verses in the 2nd chapter of Joel use the Hebrew word, paniym, which means “facing” and is translated as “before the day of the Lord,” the end-time apocalyptic period.

2. “When they shall say ‘Peace and safety,’ sudden destruction comes…as labor pains on a pregnant woman,” said Saint Paul in his 5th chapter to Thessalonians. Six nations agreed to ‘peace and safety’ in a nuclear treaty with Iran that’s already been broken by Iran’s missile testing, according to UN officials.

The biblical model derived from the above is when labor pains came on Egypt as God ‘birthed’ Israel, his “first-born” (4th chapter of Exodus). The focus again was Passover, a time of judgment when they prayed that God would pass over them and they fled Egypt.

3. “When you see the abomination… standing where it ought not,” said Christ in the 13th chapter of Mark. The Bible calls homosexuality an abomination, and with Supreme Court approval, it is “standing where it ought not,” says Ruhling. Christ said end-times would be “as it was in the days of Lot” when it rained fire the day that Lot fled Sodom. This third biblical model of destruction is also linked to Passover by the “unleavened bread” cited in the 19th chapter of Genesis. Lot lost everything because he waited till then to flee, says Ruhling.

4. Early believers understood Christ’s reference to the “abomination” as military and when the Roman army came to Jerusalem, they fled and were spared the siege by Titus who surrounded Jerusalem at Passover in 70 AD. Those who waited till they saw the military were not even to go back to their house to get their things.

The biblical model or omen for us is the US military that stood “where it ought not” with JADE HELM covering the southwest last summer. Some say it was a drill in anticipation of martial law when the economy fails. We may be wise to move with our things rather than wait till a last minute fleeing.

5. Early Christians saw the idolatrous standard of the Roman army that included emblems of their sun god planted outside Jerusalem as a sign to flee. 2015 saw the pope in Congress and the UN General Assembly, “standing where [he] ought not” with an appeal that included “Sunday” embedded in a package to save the environment by shutting down commerce and travel for a day of ‘family values,’ hopefully to help dying church attendance.

But “Congress shall make no laws respecting the establishment of religion…” Their record on defending the Constitution has been so poor that trouble is sure to come, opines Ruhling.

He says we might shrug off any of the these signs, but his peace of mind since moving to the country in compliance with Scripture is worth more than money. He reminds us that Cain, the first murderer built the first city, and unlike 50 years ago, you can’t look at headlines now without seeing murder as yet another omen of an ailing godless culture.

Ruhling reminds us that January is named for the Roman god, Janus, with two faces – one looking back and the other ahead, and he says that people in the cities may soon face big trouble in 2016.

James Van Fleet awarded Paik Sun-yup ROK-US Alliance Award

LOS ANGELES, CA – Dec 29, 2015 – The late James Van Fleet (March 19, 1892 – September 23, 1992), who served as a commander of the U.S. 8th Army during the Korean War, was awarded this year’s Paik Sun-yup ROK-US Alliance Award (the Paik Sun-yup award).

Ministry of National Defense (Republic of Korea) held the third Paik Sun-yup Award Ceremony at the Seoul Hyatt Hotel in the evening on November 1st to awarded General Van Fleet and Joseph McChristian Jr., the grandson of Gen. James Van Fleet and the chairman of the Van Fleet Foundation, accepted the Paik Sun-yup Award on his grandfather’s behalf.

Ministry of National Defense (Republic of Korea) has instituted this award in 2013 to illuminate meaning of the ROK-US alliance as well as further development of the alliance and has awarded selected one US personnel annually. The first winner was the late General Walton Walker and the second winner was William Webber, the U.S. Reserve Army Colonel.

Gen. Van Fleet, the veteran who participated in the First and Second World War, came to Korea as a commander of the U.S 8th Army and fought with an enemy when the Korea War broke out. When the staff suggested the General Van with a phrase “a hopeless war” immediately after his arrival in Korea, Gen. Van Fleet dismissed the suggestion with a statement, “I came here to win. If you do not want to be with me, go home right now.”

CPT Jimmy Van Fleet Jr., the son of General James A. Van Fleet, was also volunteered at the Korean War and played an active part as a B-26 bomber pilot. When Gen. Van Fleet heard the news of Jimmy’ disappearance due aircraft gun shot during his air strike mission carried out in North Korea, he concealed his inward agitation. It has been told that Gen. Van Fleet who stopped searching Jimmy operation to prevent power losses from the operation, gazed vacantly at the map of his son’s missing area.

After the Korea War, Gen. Van Fleet maintained the military academy training system of Korean military and he is known as a “Father of Korea Army” due to his involvement in establishing of the Military Academy. He also supported the economic growth of Korea by visiting South Korea with the U.S. executive groups.

The Korea Society has instituted James A. Van Fleet Award from 1992 for honoring General Van Fleet who served World War II and the Korean War to reward to the person who contributed greatly to the relationship between the U.S. and South Korea.

The winners of the award are Jeong H. Kim (the 11th president of Bell Lab, 1998), Jimmy Carter (former U.S President, 2000), George H.W. Bush (former U.S. President, 2005), Kim Dae-jung (former President of the Republic of Korea), Lee Kun Hee (Chairman of Samsung, 2006).

Felicia Slattery Wins ATD Smoky Mountain Chapter Second Annual Throw Down Contest

ATD Smoky Mountain Chapter held their second annual Trainer Throw Down training contest and named Knoxville resident Felicia Slattery as champion.

The Smoky Mountain Chapter of the Association for Talent Development held their second annual Smoky Mountain Throw Down competition at an expanded meeting on December 18 and awarded Knoxville resident, professional presenter and trainer, Felicia Slattery, as champion.

All members and guests, except those competing, scored each of the four competitors’ presentations on the topic of “engagement” in four categories: originality, entertainment, learning value, and engagement. Slattery won by a narrow margin of victory, just two points, over the second place trainer. For winning Slattery received a $100 VISA card and, according to Joseph Bunch, VP of Marketing, “bragging rights.” 

Slattery’s winning presentation was a light-hearted parody of “Twas the Night Before Christmas,” which she wrote specifically for the occasion. The original composition emphasized appealing to an audience’s five senses when presenting to any group. “My concept was to teach engagement by being engaging with those in the audience. I like to teach by example and do so in a creative and fun way.” Her goal was accomplished by wearing a Santa hat, playing a video of a crackling fire in lieu of a slideshow, using sound effects, and distributing candy canes at an appropriate moment during the poem. Slattery, who is the author of two best-selling books, “Kill the Elevator Speech: Stop Selling, Start Connecting,” and “21 Ways to Make Money Speaking,” trains and presents to clients and organizations globally about speaking and effective communication, and is a recent transplant to Knoxville from the Chicago area.

The Smoky Mountain Chapter of the Association for Talent Development is part of the world’s largest association dedicated to the training and development profession. SUNNYVALE, CA – Dec 30, 2015 – SmartyPans is a smart cooking pan that tracks nutrition of food being cooked in real time and integrates with fitness apps and devices. The SmartyPans app takes in voice command and as you add ingredients to the pan, you tell the app the ingredient you’re adding.  The pan has weight and temperature sensors that allows the app to compute the nutrition of food you cook.

She approached her brother, Rahul, a CMU grad, who built the technology from the ground up. “We think smartness is more about the utility than making the pan a connected device.  So, we made sure the pan is simple yet multi-faceted.  Just like a Swiss Knife!” said Rahul Baxi, describing the unique two layered design.

The top pan comes off.  It can be used as a serving bowl or an oven pan.  The entire pan is dishwasher safe and can be used as a regular kitchen scale.  When baking, use the pan as a kitchen scale, measure ingredients, lift the top pan and put it the oven!

This revolutionary pan comes with a price tag of $299 but will be available for pre-order at just $169.  The crowdfunding campaign goes live in January.  The team is presenting at CES 2016, check them out at booth # 80662 Eureka Park.
