These events will be hosted by Arkansas’s own; NBA Veteran and Philanthropist, Ronnie Brewer Jr. The gala will take place on Saturday, June 24th at the Fayetteville Boys & Girls Club with a special guest performance by the Cate Brothers. 

The Gala will raise funds to benefit efforts for RBF programs and other community initiatives. This year’s theme will be “Going for the Gold” where the RBF will honor some of Arkansas finest entities, organizations and scholarship winners whom they have impacted over the years. The night will conclude with of a live and silent auction mixed with dinner and dancing.

The weekend will kick off on Thursday, June 22nd at 8am with the 2nd Annual RBF Celebrity Golf Tournament held at the Paradise Valley Country Club. On Friday, June 23rd, RBF will host a special VIP reception to honor its sponsors such as Walmart, Sam’s Club, Bedford Camera and Video, Citiscape Magazine, ESPN Arkansas and others sponsors along with esteem celebrity guests.

The EUROMOVERS ‘family’ have a highland gathering

London, United Kingdom – 22 June, 2017 – EUROMOVERS International, the global network of international removals and relocation companies, held its annual conference in Edinburgh between 25-28 May.  The event attracted 85 delegates representing moving companies from as far afield as New Zealand, Brazil, Singapore and Thailand, as well as most countries in Europe.

For a group that is entirely business focussed, EUROMOVERS International enjoys an extraordinary ‘family feel’ with international partners and competitors alike coming together to work, learn and exchange business together in a totally relaxed environment.

Thomas Juchum, EUROMOVERS’ General Manager, and Denis Zonneveld, the chairman from Dijkshoorn Euromovers in the Netherlands, opened the conference with their reports on the past year and plans for the future. 

Denis explained that the EUROMOVERS membership had expanded in the last two years and the intention was to continue that trend by recruiting new members that comply with the organisation’s strict membership criteria.

Thomas said that the total number of consignments performed by members had exceeded 50,000 in 2016, almost double that of the previous two years.  94% of customers had reported the service to be ‘excellent’ or ‘good’ in 2016, a statistic that had remained extraordinarily constant over an extended period.

Business presentations were designed to educate, inform and, to some extent at least, entertain the delegates.  They included information about a new digital removal platform that was already performing multiple moves in Europe and acting as both a threat and an opportunity for traditional operators; an innovative cardboard packing system that has the ability to replace wooden cases and so avoid the need for fumigation at destination; proposals for upgraded insurance that would smooth the claims process for customers; a look at brand development and management; and a new software system to help members manage their companies’ operations more effectively.

EUROMOVERS also took the opportunity for some internal reflection with a workshop facilitated by international move consultant Frank Lierz, designed to identify objectives and strategies for the group in the future.  Ian Studd, the Director General of the British Association of Removers (BAR), was the guest of honour and provided the group with his personal thoughts on some of the post-Brexit challenges for the UK moving industry.  The education was concluded with a distinguished guest speaker, Professor David Argyle, the Dean of the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies in Edinburgh.  He explained some of his work including the cloning of the world’s first mammal, ‘Dolly’ the sheep, by the university’s Roslin Institute.

Giving people a fresh start

As part of its ongoing Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme, EUROMOVERS organised a charity lottery in aid of ‘FreshStart’, a local charity that helps former homeless people get settled into new accommodation.  Donations from members and from EUROMOVERS itself collected €2,250.

Being in Edinburgh the event would not have been complete without at least one highland-themed dinner including: a wee dram of the local whisky; Cullen Skink; haggis, neeps and tatties; and Scottish Salmon. Entertainment came from the Clanadonia Pipe and Drums who delivereda testosterone-packed wall of highland music that had everyone joining in and enjoying the quintessentially Scottish evening.

5 Key Areas to Arriving in Style on your Wedding Day

One: Research Carefully.

Talk to friends, visit websites, read online reviews. The more unusual your transport, the less choice you will have but if possible go and see the vehicle in which you will arrive. Get it in writing that this will be the car that collects you on the day.

Two: Book Early.

If you can, try to reserve your vehicle six or even nine months in advance. Once you have set the date and arranged the timings get in contact with your suppliers and reserve the car. There are some factors that you should bear in mind will mean you need to book earlier to secure your vehicle. Getting married the Spring, or near a big holiday such as Christmas might mean that there is demand on the company from events other than weddings, such as graduation ceremonies. Most companies will be quieter during the early part of the week, whilst Fridays and Saturdays will see most demand. Vintage cars are in shorter supply than more standard limos.

Three: Think About who you are Providing Transport for.

If you have a lot of people coming from out of town, should you book a car to collect them from the airport? What about your bridesmaids on the big day? Do they make their own way or do you offer them a helping hand?

Four: Build in Extra Time.

You might need your vehicle just to arrive for the ceremony. Or you might want it to drive you to the venue afterwards, and even collect you again at the end. So, make sure that you build in extra time for your journeys to allow for traffic hold-ups – despite the tradition of the Bride arriving late, you don’t want the panic of your guests sitting nervously awaiting your arrival (and if you do, and you are early, just get the driver to take you round the block one more time). Most companies will charge by the hour, with a minimum hire time. It’s your special day so don’t make the timings too tight. Let yourself relax and enjoy.

Five: Think of the Extras.

Decide what you want from the company. Will they provide Champagne? Will they decorate the car? What about music – can you supply them with a list of your favorite tracks?

Get these five key areas right, and your day will be even more special than you could have possibly imagined.
