Craig Petronella, North Carolina Cyber Security Expert, Reveals Protection Methods To Safeguard Against Computer Hacking.

On a recent episode of Main Street Mavericks Radio with Joel Helfer, Craig Petronella discussed how most businesses mistakenly believed they will never be hacked.

According to Petronella, there is a three step process he uses to evaluate any business for potential security breaches. These steps include a security risk assessment, a remediation phase, and a redo of the security risk assessment to make sure the company information is secure and in compliance with all local, state and federal laws.

Petronella said, “There are hackers from all over the world who use sophisticated malware or ransomware 20 times more powerful than your bank, to steal your data and then demand a hefty fee so you can access your information needed to run your business.”

When Joel Helfer, asked Petronella, “How is this possible?”, Petronella replied, “If you do not have a good back up or recovery system for your data, you may have to pay and there is no guarantee the criminals will give you  your data back.”

During the interview, Craig Petronella spoke in detail about his proprietary three step process to safeguard your company information.  He noted that in addition to the process to assess, protect, and re-evaluate your system to make sure its safe, there was an ongoing maintenance component.

He said, “Even when your company data is secure from a criminal hacker, you need to have an ongoing maintenance program called managed security services to guard against all the changes in technology that happen on a daily basis.”

The interview concluded when Craig Petronella, who has over 30 years experience protecting companies against cyber theft , stated,  “Businesses have to be very careful on what emails they open up, because even one seemingly harmless email can lead to the theft of your company data.” All businesses need security awareness training.

Brad Roche, Mortgage Banker with Element Funding, will be speaking at the Mortgage Bankers Association of Hawaii 2017 Annual State Conference in June 2017. The conference will be held June 28th to June 30th in Honolulu. Roche was also named as a speaker at the Mid Atlantic Lender Conference (Residential) of the Mortgage Bankers Association of Metropolitan Washington D.C., which will be held on October 12 in Fairfax, Virginia

Roche will be sharing his techniques and insights for mortgage originators, including:

Local Maidstone Resident, Zulal Ramadan, Care Assistant with Bluebird Care Maidstone, has recently been announced as the Care Assistant of the year for Maidstone. The award was presented by Cllr Derek Butler, Mayor of Maidstone at a special afternoon tea on 14th February at the company’s offices in Barham Court, Teston.

Following Bluebird Care’s Every Visit Counts Campaign which raised awareness of the importance of the role of Care Assistants in combatting loneliness, the award is a great achievement and creates an opportunity to celebrate and recognize excellence in care and highlight the importance of all those in a caring role.

Zulal, who previously ran a local fish and chip shop, started her career in care with Bluebird Care over two years ago and was nominated following a survey with customers where she received over 12% of votes from all customers. Upon receiving the award, she commented:

‘I can’t believe I was nominated by so many customers! I love what I do and get great satisfaction out of my role. I could not want a better team and customers to work with!

Thank you everyone very much for a wonderful afternoon tea – I had a great time and am delighted to have even met the mayor of Maidstone – all who came because of me!’

Limited Edition NCAA Men’s Basketball Championship Bobblehead Series 2 Unveiled

Bobbleheads featuring mascots from ten NCAA Division 1 Schools that have won a single National Championships are now available for sale.

MILWAUKEE, WI – 1 Mar, 2017 – Today, the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum unveiled bobbleheads commemorating NCAA Men’s Basketball National Championships for ten Division 1 Schools. Each school’s bobblehead is individually numbered to only 216. The bobbleheads are only available on the National Bobblehead HOF and Museum’s website.

The following schools were produced in this series: Arizona Wildcats (1997), Arkansas Razorbacks (1994), California Golden Bears (1959), Georgetown Hoyas (1984), Marquette Golden Eagles (1977), Ohio State Buckeyes (1960), Oregon Ducks (1939), Syracuse Orange (2003), Utah Utes (1944) and Wisconsin Badgers (1941). The bobbleheads, which are officially licensed, are in stock and ship now. The bobbleheads are $40 each, with flat rate shipping of $8.

These are the first bobbleheads commemorating each school’s championships. Each bobblehead features the school’s current mascot with replica NCAA National Championship trophies as well as a backing that lists the year of each school’s championship. The NCAA has crowned a Men’s Basketball National Champion since 1939, with only 35 different schools winning at least one National Championship and only 15 schools winning multiple championships.

The first series, which features schools that have won multiple championships, features: Kentucky Wildcats (8 Championships), North Carolina Tar Heels (5), Connecticut Huskies (4), Louisville Cardinals (3), Kansas Jayhawks (3), Villanova Wildcats (2), North Carolina State Wolfpack (2), Michigan State Spartans (2), Oklahoma State Cowboys (2), San Francisco Dons (2), Cincinnati Bearcats (2) and Florida Gators (2). The Kentucky, North Carolina, Louisville and Villanova Bobbleheads are sold out, while a limited number of the other schools remain.

“March Madness is officially here, and we thought this would be the perfect time to release the second series of College Basketball Championship Bobbleheads,” said Phil Sklar, Co-Founder and CEO of the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum. “These bobbleheads are the perfect way for fans to commemorate their favorite school’s championships, and what better time than March to celebrate those memories.”

HELLAS CONSTRUCTION SELECTED BY JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS TO INSTALL TURF AT NEW INDOOR PRACTICE FACILITY AT DAILY’S PLACE

AUSTIN, TX – 1 Mar, 2017 – The Jacksonville Jaguars have selected Hellas Construction to install its Velocity turf at Daily’s Place, the all new covered amphitheater and flex field adjacent to EverBank Field in downtown Jacksonville.  The facility will serve as both an indoor practice facility for the NFL’s Jacksonville Jaguars and a venue for concerts, special events and game day activities.

“We’re building a one-a-kind facility with Daily’s Place and have explored a variety of material options during the design phase,” said Jacksonville Jaguars Director of Strategic Initiatives Nik Sobic. “Given the facility’s dual purpose as both a venue for public and private events and a practice facility for elite athletes, the Hellas product was the best fit and came highly recommended.”

The Jaguars and City of Jacksonville broke ground on Daily’s Place last August following the construction of a brand new south end zone super tunnel that will connect EverBank Field to the new amphitheater.  Known as The Cooler, this on-field premium fan zone is being upgraded with additional Hellas’ Velocity turf. This tunnel is the site of The Prowl, the Jaguars traditional walk to the field on game day and allows fans to get up close and personal with the team. 

“Daily’s Place is a state-of-the-art entertainment venue designed to seamlessly integrate into Everbank Field and offer a world-class experience,” said Thom Chuparkoff, Populous Project Manager. Populous is the architect firm designing and planning the Daily’s Place project. “We’re honored to be a part of this project with the Jacksonville Jaguars organization and Hellas Construction,” Chuparkoff said.

Daily’s Place will feature an iconic continuous roof made of PTFE and supported by a steel structure. The amphitheater will offer multi-level seating for an audience of 5,500. The flex field will feature a regulation-size field built with Hellas’ Velocity turf surrounded by walls that can be opened to extend the gathering space during events or closed for a climate-controlled option during inclement weather. The creation of Daily’s Place is phase 2 of a $90 million investment in the downtown sports complex by the City of Jacksonville and Jaguars owner Shad Khan.

Roman said, “I can’t wait for the City of Jacksonville and the world to see the finish product of this outstanding venue. We are proud to partner with the Jacksonville Jaguars and Populous on such a state-of-the-art project.” 

Construction on Daily’s Place is currently underway. The first show at the amphitheater is set for May 27, 2017.

NORMAN REEDUS COMES TO RHODE ISLAND COMIC CON

The sixth annual Rhode Island Comic Con arrives in town on November 10th through the 12th and it brings “Daryl Dixon,” Norman Reedus from The Walking Dead with them as the first headlining guest.

The sixth annual Rhode Island Comic Con arrives in town on November 10th through the 12th and it brings “Daryl Dixon,” Norman Reedus from The Walking Dead with them as the first headlining guest.

Reedus, who plays one of the leading and most popular characters on the hit TV show, adapted from the Robert Kirkman comic book series of the same name, is also known for his role as Murphy McManus in Boondock Saints and Scud in Blade II. This is Reedus’ first appearance at Rhode Island Comic Con and his only 2017 New England appearance.

Announcements began February 1 and joining Reedus on the expected massive guest list include Sebastien Roche from Supernatural, David Mazouz from Gotham, Steve Guttenberg from Police Academy, and wrestler Rey Mysterio.
