National Bee Research Lab Workshop Aims to Prevent Bee Losses

COLUMBIA, MISSOURI – 24 Feb, 2017 – The Missouri State Beekeepers Assocation (MSBA) is presenting a hands-on workshop aimed to teach beekeepers how to identify common disease and pest problems in the hive. Dr. Jay Evans from the National Bee Research Lab will take the group through a post-mortem hive assessment, look at signs of Varroa and Nosema, and look under the microscope at American and European Foulbrood.

According to a February 16, 2016 article in the New York Times, ‘in the year that ended in April 2016, 44 percent of the overall commercial bee population died. In a typical year before the plague, only 10 percent to 15 percent would have died’. The MSBA is working to educate its members and the public about how to stem this trend and prevent further losses.

The cost to attend the workshop and luncheon is $65 for members and $75 for non-members. 

The event will be held 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Stoney Creek Hotel located at 2601 S. Providence Rd., Columbia, MO 65203.

The U.S. Navy recently awarded South Florida-based Miguel Lopez Jr. Inc. a new spot as Prime Team Sub-Contractor on the Indefinite-Delivery/Indefinite-Quantity (ID/IQ) SeaPort-e acquisition program for services procurements program. The government estimates 5.3 billion of services will be procured each year under these SeaPort-e contracts.

MEDLEY, FL – 24 Feb, 2017 – The U.S. Navy awarded South Florida-based, facilities maintenance and engineering contractor Miguel Lopez Jr. Inc. Asphalt Maintenance a new spot as Sub-Contractor on the Indefinite-Delivery/Indefinite-Quantity (ID/IQ) SeaPort Enhanced (SeaPort-e) acquisition program for services procurements program. Miguel Lopez Jr. Inc. holds an exclusive teaming agreement with California-based 8(a) Prime contract holder and Inc. 500 Honoree Spotswood Consulting, a leading Small Business, and SBA 8(a) Certified firm.

The awarded  Small Business 8(a) Prime Contract holders are able to compete for over 1,100 task orders and service requirements with a combined value of over $24 Billion over the next five years solicited by Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA), Naval Facilities Command (NAVFAC), Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR), Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR), Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP), Military Sealift Command (MSC), Strategic Systems Programs (SSP), Office of Naval Research (ONR) and the U.S. Marine Corps (USMC).

Task Orders for the 22 functional service areas within the scope of the contracts to be serviced by Miguel Lopez Jr. Inc. Asphalt Maintenance include the following:

1. Asphalt Paving and Patching Service
2. Pavement Rejuvenation
3. Seal Coating
4. Striping
5. Drainage, Water & Sewer, and base Site Work
6. ADA Compliance
7. Disaster Recovery (DR) site restoration work

The government estimates a maximum of $5.3 billion of services will be procured each year via task orders issued under the SeaPort-e contracts.

The key to this project is research and this will be done in the form of a survey which will gather the expert opinions of scientists whose input will be an integral part of the book.

III% United Patriots Of Virginia Challenges The SPLC To Meet

ASHBURN, VA – 27 Feb, 2017 – “The Southern Poverty Law Center” has unfairly labeled III% United Patriots Of Virginia and other Patriots as anti-government militias, according to the leadership of “III% United Patriots Of  Virginia”.

III% United Patriots Of Virginia is an organization in Virginia that hopes to better their communities and push for limited government that acts within the boundaries of The Constitution.

“They label us as an anti-government militia,” says Mr. Crump, “but we are not anti-government at all and we are definitely not a militia.  We want to work to better educate people on The Constitution and push for government accountability.  We also do a lot of charity work which the SPLC fails to mention.”

The SPLC has also labeled other groups as anti-government militias such as The Constitution Party, and Mark Dice who host a Youtube channel where he takes fake surveys.

Mr. Crump believes that The SPLC targets his group and others like his because of The SPLC’s liberal agenda.

“We believe in the constitution and the principles set out by our forefathers.  We believe in  America.  I fail to see how that makes us anti government extremist.  We are open to all ideas from both the left and the right.  We are a big tent type of organization.  I invite anyone to come check us out. The SPLC has an agenda.  That agenda is to smear anyone that they don’t agree with.  They think anyone who goes against them is an extremist.”

This Saturday, hope for humanity was rekindled as corporate moguls, professionals, and humanitarians unite for a noble cause – raising funds for charity to support the downtrodden in society and uplift impoverished communities

Many prominent personalities were present on this august occasion which was hosted at the Quiet Cannon Event Center in Montebello to celebrate and re-ignite corporate social responsibility while supporting WorldHarvest, the nonprofit humanitarian organization focused on alleviating poverty in communities around the world. At the luncheon, guests were treated to a live musical performance by Amanda Velez-Buck, who played Fantine in a production of Les Misérables in 2015.

Top dignitaries from notable corporations and government graced the event. They include:
