Middle East print market value to reach $24bn in 2017

Dubai, United Arab Emirates; 19 December 2016 – Experts see a robust print and packaging sector in the Middle East with its market value reaching $24bn in 2017.

Citing the latest exclusive data from a Smithers Pira report entitled The Future of Global Printing to 2020, Mike Simmonds, project director, Gulf Print and Pack said, “The Middle East presents a dynamic market for both print and package printing segments. Across both these industries the latest data forecasts growth well in excess of the mean regional GDP increases of around 3% per annum. Overall market value will pass $28bn by the end of the decade.”

In addition, the report sees a bright future for the industry as the packaging sub-segment will have increased to 70% of the print market by 2020.

For the consumption of packaging, the Middle East also presents a tempting market for global firms as it is the print industry’s most buoyant sector for growth. The data from another Smithers Pira report – The Future of Packaging to 2020 – forecasts a regional market worth $30.3 billion in 2017. This will expand to $36.9 billion in 2020, driven by the fastest year-on-year growth rate of any global region.

Industrial and transit packaging, followed by food are, and will remain, the largest end-use segments – though healthcare will be the fastest growing over the next four years.  

More interesting developments and opportunities in the print and package print sector will be showcased at the Gulf Print and Pack exhibition, the leading event for commercial print and package printing in Middle East and North Africa (MENA).

Among the opportunities being seen by industry stakeholders is the growth of digitization. “There is still room in the commercial print market, as digitization is still only a very small part of the overall business. If you class packaging, label and textile printing as one market segment, then you can trust that this will be the next big segment both in terms of development and opportunity. We have already seen leading manufacturers looking at investing in the industrial segment. Label, packaging and textile areas are literally untouched. There seems to be a huge scope. However, the success will not be just dependent on products. There needs to be a change in mindset, approach and skills. Industry knowledge is going to be the key,” said Pauline Brooks, marketing development manager, Konica Minolta.

Adams and Reese Closes Record-Breaking $75 Million Sale of Florida 55+ Mobile Home Community

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – The law firm of Adams and Reese has closed a $75 million sale of a 1,168-lot, 55+ mobile home community in Zephyrhills, Florida, representing one of the largest transactions of its kind in the Florida manufactured home industry. The June 2016 sale of Forest Lake Estates to a large national real estate investment trust secured a high return on investment for community shareholders who originally banded together to purchase the mobile home park in 1999.

Adams and Reese St. Petersburg real estate attorney David S. Bernstein served as legal advisor for the transaction and worked closely with Brett Schroder, president of Premier Community Management, Realty and Mobile Home Sales, Inc., former management company of the park, to complete the transaction.

“Forest Lake Estates is a historically resident-owned community that, over the years, had experienced the common challenges of shareholder ownership, such as frequent board turnover, disagreements over community management providers, low cash reserve, unfilled vacancies, and an overall clouded long-term vision of the park,” Bernstein said. “The ultimate sale of the community garnered a roughly 94% approval rating from shareholders and successfully recognized their equity at a peak of the market.”

The sale to the REIT, one of the largest in the U.S., included future provisions to enhance community amenities and services, rent increase caps for 10 years, prepaid rent credits for use toward future rent increases, and a requirement that Forest Lake Estates remain a mobile home park for 20 years. The transaction closed after nearly 8 months of due diligence and negotiations.   

Forest Lake Estates’ sale marks one of the largest of its kind in Florida history. It may also serve as a blueprint for shareholders in other manufactured home communities looking to retrieve their equity after weathering the challenges of resident ownership and without sacrificing the quality of their communities.

“There were many challenges and roadblocks in the history of Forest Lake Estates that are common among other resident-owned communities,” 

Schroder said. “Ultimately, Forest Lake residents were able to sell at a peak of the market and make good on their long-term investment.”

The festival’s producer, Marko Stout has been referred to as “the next Andy Warhol” by many in the media, including the Huffington Post, BrooWaha and New York Magazine. However a recent article in the Chicago Tribune, quoted Stout as not too happy with the comparisons, “Many people are comparing me to Warhol, but I would like to say, I don’t follow anyone’s style, it’s my own- pure Marko Stout.”

The Lips Festival will highlight the very best in local and international art shorts, with a few feature length productions. That was about two years ago, and in the time since Mizzy has been riding a wave of musical success that has seen him become a YouTube sensation and one of the country’s hottest rising young hip-hop artists. The two singles are called “Love Games” and “For the Street,” and chronicle his pursuit of finding ways to embark on a journey of success and climbing his way out of the struggle.

“I’m always in awe of finding ways to spread a message of love and actuality through the means of my music,” he said. “I have my own sound – I don’t sound like anybody else, which is rare for rappers. Usually rappers will sound similar to someone else in the industry, but I definitely have my own sound. I’m very versatile, and when I’m making music I want people to feel my pain and get where I’m coming from. I know there are people out there who came from nothing, like how I was, and my music gives them other ways to get stress off their minds without having to go to drugs or violence.”

Another single that has already been making waves with fans is a song called “Add It Up.” It’s a song about the realization of success and that moment of euphoria when all your dreams are seemingly being realized.

“One day I was adding up all the money I had in my pocket and I maybe had a couple of thousand at the time,” Mizzy said. “I was feeling good that day, and this song came out of that. It’s kind of my money anthem. It’s like a victory song. When you feel like you’ve accomplished something, that’s something you should celebrate.”

It’s the realization of a dream that started as young as third grade, when he first started exploring R&B music with his 10 other brothers and sisters. By the age of 15 he was writing his own music and experimenting with YouTube beats. Now he’s ready to showcase his music to the world, and will do so with a mixtape titled “SBlock Don’t Sleep” sometime in the first quarter of 2017. That mixtape will include the singles “Add It Up,” “Love Games” and “For The Street.”
