Diversity initiatives in corporations have become standardized as the demographics of the workforce has shifted. Jason Greer, CEO of Greer Consulting Inc., will speak about the need for a renewed approach to creating meaningful diversity initiatives using a brain based approach at the American Council of Independent Laboratories Annual meeting. The U.S. has a labor force participation rate of 63.8 percent. According to the Center for American Progress, census data reveals that by 2050 there will be no racial or ethnic majority in our country. Advances in neurological research can help organizations operationalize diversity of thought and eventually change how they define and harness human capital.” An article published by The Society for Neuroscience reveals that implicit bias results from an often subtle discrimination based on cultural stereotypes. The solution thus lies in understanding shifting subconscious thought patterns.

“Diversity trainings that merely focus on employees’ differences in race, sexual orientation, gender and religion have serious limitations and have the potential to create divisiveness. Instead, transformative diversity and inclusion initiatives expose the subconscious bias that impacts everyone’s behaviors. With this understanding, we are able to recognize the impact of our neurological conditioning on corporate culture,” explains Greer.

According to John Beshears and Francesca Gino of the Harvard Business School, “It’s extraordinarily difficult to rewire the human brain,” but we can “alter the environment in which decisions are made.” This approach involves mitigating biases, not reversing them, and Beshears and Gino have found that it can lead to better outcomes in a wide range of situations.

Jason is a professional speaker widely known for his work in the area of racial reconciliation. He combines his natural wit and storytelling ability with his experience in counseling, training and conflict resolution. MNF has averaged 11.8 million viewers through the first two weeks, down from the 13.4 million viewers it averaged in the same period last year. Week 3 ratings hit an all-time low for the MNF franchise with only 8.047 million viewers as they went head to head with the presidential debate.

GREEN BAY, WI – 9/28/2016 (PRESS RELEASE JET) — Individuals, high school groups, colleges, faith communities, clubs and families have volunteered with A Broader View Volunteers in Peru.  Volunteers are the driving force of our non-profit charity, and we offer flexible, customized, international mission trips throughout Peru.   Volunteer programs include language & cultural immersion classes, medical and nursing project, pre-medical and pre-nursing, rehabilitation & elderly support, teaching English and child care/orphanage support work.   Flexible start and ends dates.  Program range from 1 week to 3 months in length.  Join us and see a broader view of the world!

Healthcare Programs

Although Peru has made immense strides towards improving health care over the last 20 years, over 1/3 of the population still lack access to basic health care services.   In Cusco, Ayacucho and Arequipa Peru volunteers give support to public hospital which provides free health care to the uninsured population, including the elderly.  There are opportunities to administer care and support therapy to special needs children and adults, shadow local doctors on rounds, giving oral vaccinations and working with the elderly care programs.

Aspiring health care professionals, undergraduate’s internships, and shadow observation learning projects available in Cusco Peru.   Volunteer in a community clinic, in an elderly care center, providing physical therapy support, as well as community outreach projects.

Teaching Programs

Most of our volunteer teachers are currently still in school and seeking the opportunity to gain critical classroom experience. Work with a local teacher and be inspired as you watch them lead lessons, provide one on one instruction and navigate a classroom setting.   Less experienced volunteers work in a kindergarten with children under 6years old.  Experienced teachers have the option of working in a primary school setting, or as a tutor role in a non-classroom setting.

Orphanage/Child Support Programs

Institutional living, especially long term, can have a negative impact on children.  In many cases, children living in orphanages have a living parent who is unable to afford to care for the child.  International volunteers introduce new ideas, new languages and a different outlook to children in an orphanage.  Our volunteers know their service alone will not change the life outcome of these children, but by supporting them they help them to be independent and productive citizens and hopefully break out of the cycles of poverty.  Much focus is spent on teaching the children vocational training and strong education.

This was the first time I have done anything like this and at 37 I feel like I am way overdue.  This is something that every person should do in my opinion right out of high school or right after college or at any stage of life really.  What an amazing opportunity to combine visiting a new location seeing the sites of a new city with giving back to others…I volunteered at an all girls orphanage ages from 11 to 17.   This opportunity ignited a spark in me to seek out other young women who are in need of love and guidance and counsel in my own city as well as in Cusco and other places across the world…. New approach to mail processing by Konstantin Bas, CEO of Availius LLC.

LINDEN, NJ – 9/28/2016 (PRESS RELEASE JET) — Availius LLC (CEO Konstantin Bas) has announced the launch of a new mailing service for the clients of small and medium-range hospitals, clinical laboratories and regional medical groups.

Although medical billing is for the most part done electronically (claims generated by medical organizations are submitted to payers electronically), all communication with patients is still done by regular mail. Upon receiving an Explanation of Benefits from an insurance company, a healthcare facility must calculate the amount of the patient’s responsibilities, generate an invoice and mail it to the patient. Experience shows that it normally takes more than one mailing, since many patients either ignore the invoices altogether or send back faulty responses instead of the payment.

This results in more mailings (often more than one) sent to the same patient urging him/her to make the payment rather than deal with a collection agency.

The whole mailing process is extremely cumbersome and logistically complicated. The bottleneck in this process is stuffing the letters and invoices into envelopes, sealing the envelopes and paying postage.

Large organizations such as banks, insurance companies and government agencies use for these purposes special services and incredibly complex and costly equipment, which is not a viable option for small and medium-range organizations.

Konstantin Bas, CEO of Availius LLC, who has firsthand knowledge of the issues involved in running a healthcare organization and specifically of this issue, offers a much more effective solution.

Currently, the labor costs alone can be up to 10-15 cents per mailing. Moreover, the mailing rates are always the highest, even when using postal meters.

The solution proposed by Konstantin Bas is a full service center outfitted with state-of-the-art mailing equipment, where invoices and accompanying letters are generated according to the client’s specifications, printed out, stuffed in envelopes, sealed and delivered to the post office. The actual postage is 15% lower than the official rates.

The new service, says Konstantin Bas, is increasingly popular due to the advantages accorded by the much faster turnover and significant savings.
