One common way is to measure the glucose concentration of blood substitutes (saliva, sweat and urine), but some studies have shown that the concentration of glucose detected and the concentration of blood glucose has no significant correlation. Another way is to measure the concentration of glucose in interstitial fluid by mild corroding the skin, removing the skin barrier and vacuum continuous extraction, and then through the reverse algorithm to presume the concentration of blood glucose. But this is still a slight detrimental detection method by using the osmotic technology in combination with in vitro measurements, the correlation of glucose concentration and concentration of blood glucose is indeed quite good, but high operation technique is required during the detection process, and the measuring is too complex for common clinical use.

From the perspective of data connection method, noninvasive glycometabolism monitoring technology can realize the collection of calorific value of human metabolism, blood flow and blood oxygen concentration through body surface detection. From the perspective of correlation, the rate of glucose metabolism primarily reflects the unit area and the energy value per unit time after the in vivo glucose metabolism, which has a direct relationship with the blood glucose. Noninvasive monitoring of glycometabolism rate demonstrates the feasibility of noninvasive blood glucose monitoring technology on the positive sight, and can effectively prevent monitoring accidents such as cross-infection which may occur during invasive blood glucose monitoring.

Starting from the medical monitoring area, diabetic relies on the blood glucose monitoring technology most. Patients who are diagnosed with diabetes and treated with insulin or using insulin pump need to monitor the blood glucose level 4-7 times per day. Swiftly transitioning from student to teacher, Dr. Marques has served as an academic advisor since 1999 and an adjunct faculty member since 2001, eventually becoming Director and Chair of the BBA Program and Chair of the Management Department, where she is a full professor.  Her teaching focuses on leadership, ethics, and organizational behavior, and her research interests pertain to the same areas with specific focus on workplace spirituality and leadership awareness.
