The topic of bullying is not one that is a stranger to the media.  There are reports of incidents stemming from bulling as serious as injury, hospitalization, or even suicide.

BULLYPROOF America was started to educate kids, families, and communities to curb this problem.

“The thing is, it’s not just bullying that’s a problem,” says Alex Changho, founder of BULLYPROOF America.  “It’s the negative effects of bullying that are causing kids to suffer.  If we can help kids become more confident, stronger inside, and have big goals to strive for, it gives them that compelling future to move towards despite bullying.  And it helps them be more resilient.”

DENNY’S OFFICIAL PANCAKE “GRAND SLAM” MASCOT MISSING

SNEADS FERRY, N.C. AND SPARTANBURG, S.C. – 6 Aug, 2016 – On Thursday, August 4 at approximately 3:44 p.m., the owner of the Denny’s franchise located at 2020 N.C. Hwy 172, Sneads Ferry, N.C. reported that Pancake “Grand Slam,” a trademarked fictional character and official mascot of Denny’s corporate office located in Spartanburg, S.C. was abducted from the franchised location.  The report was made by Terrence J. Leifheit, the franchise owner.

Mr. Leifheit reported that Pancake “Grand Slam,” was last seen by the restaurant manager on Thursday afternoon, August 4 at approximately 12:00 p.m.  He believes that Pancake’s disappearance is, “a conspiracy that goes beyond breakfast.”  He voiced concerns stating that Pancake’s abduction might be linked to the Denny’s corporate pancake promotion, “Love ‘em or they’re free guarantee.”  Denny’s is offering the new fluffy homestyle pancakes across the country made with fresh buttermilk, real eggs, and a hint of vanilla for a fluffier and yummier taste.  For a limited time only, if you don’t like the new pancakes, they’re free.  The promotion runs thru August 2016.

It was later confirmed by management, that Pancake “Grand Slam” was last seen in the restaurant lobby, adjacent to the hostess station, where he was photographed with restaurant patrons who would Snapchat #FLUFFYPANCAKES | THEGRANDSLAMS.COM.  Local authorities have not been officially notified of his disappearance, but the franchise owner has posted a $500 Denny’s gift card for any information leading to Pancake’s whereabouts or return.

A special investigation unit put together by the franchise owner, consisting of restaurant managers, the franchise’s district manager, and marketing team, began work to locate Pancake “Grand Slam” beginning Friday morning and have been actively working throughout the weekend to locate him.  A special beach unit was also dispatched to Topsail Beach, N.C. in response to a video tip that came in from http://www.thegrandslams.com Episode 21 “Breakfast Before Bed,” hosted by Bacon “Grand Slam.”  The video clip showed Pancake exiting off camera, while holding a cellular phone of a video call with Kari Byron.  When asked by Pancake, “Kari, what is your favorite place to go on a date?” She replied, “OK Pancake, I guess, I like to go to the beach.” 

He was later seen exiting off camera, while still holding the cellular phone used for the video conference with Kari Byron.  He was yelling, “To the beach!”  Byron, an American television host and artist was not available for comment.  She is best known for her feature role on the Discovery Channel show, “MythBusters.”

Many tips and leads have been followed up on and are continuing to be followed up on.  It was reported by Bacon, that he (Pancake) may simply be ‘taking time off’ after recently finishing an audio book titled, “Lighter Than Air.” He also stated that Pancake, ‘Likes to hit the syrup.’

As of this time, there is no known criminal nexus to this case nor is there any known threat to the public.  The case is being considered as a “Missing Pancake Case.” Management hopes Pancake will be returned before he becomes toast.

Pancake’s known associates and members of the “Grand Slam” family are fully cooperating with the investigation at this time and are very concerned about the whereabouts of their breakfast companion.
