Jacob Frydman Generously Supports of Washington DC’s Brem Foundation

NEW YORK, NY – 04 Aug, 2016 – Expert commercial real estate developer Jacob Frydman has been an avid supporter of the Brem Foundation and its comprehensive approach to early-detection through education, access, and physician training. Inspired by Dr. Rachel Brem, who directs The Breast Imaging and Intervention Center at The GW Medical Faculty Associates, the Brem Foundation is dedicated to helping women understand the risks and options associated with breast cancer.  It also provides free breast cancer screenings for the underserved communities within the Washington DC metropolitan area.

Generous contributions from donors like Jacob Frydman support the Brem Foundation’s community outreach programs, breast radiologist fellowships, and research in advanced diagnostic technologies. Recognizing the importance of the organization’s fight against the disease, Frydman points to the National Cancer Institute’s findings that in 2015, there were more than 230,000 new cases of breast cancer in the United States and more than 12 percent of women will be diagnosed with the disease in their lifetime.

In addition to education provided by the Brem Foundation through its outreach programs, the organization is also devoted to delivering access to those who need it. The foundation’s B-Fund pays for women who cannot afford critical diagnostic tests, while its “Mammovan” brings mobile mammography to the uninsured and underinsured residents of Northern Virginia as well as Montgomery and Prince Georges Counties of Maryland. “While breast cancer may not be preventable, with early diagnosis and treatment, survival rates skyrocket,” states Frydman, citing NCI statistics revealing a 98.6 percent five-year survival rate for those whose cancer is localized. “The Brem Foundation’s mobile mammography is a critical piece of the survivability puzzle,” he adds.

Frydman’s support of the Brem Foundation’s work in underserved communities is rooted in part by his experiences growing up in Northern New Jersey, where Frydman saw firsthand the disparities between communities that had financial resources and those that did not. “I greatly admire Dr. Brem’s work in delivering healthcare to women who might otherwise be denied access to basic screening services,” he declares.

A renowned expert on value added investments, Jacob Frydman has over 30 years of experience in structuring, financing, and executing highly complex real estate transactions with notable transactions including midtown Manhattan’s Two Dag Hammarskjöld Plaza and lower Manhattan’s Aetna Building. Prior to his retirement in September 2015, Frydman was the CEO and Chairman of a public Real Estate Investment Trust. While inclusion with the International Association of Top Professionals is an honor in itself, only a few members in each discipline are chosen for this distinction. These special honorees are distinguished based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership abilities, longevity in the field, other affiliations and contributions to their communities.  All honorees are invited to attend the IAOTP’s annual award gala at the end of this year for a night to honor their achievements.

With over 30 years of professional experience in academic and hospital dentistry, Dr. Robb has certainly proved himself as an accomplished professional and expert in the field.  Having been with the university for over 4 years, he serves as the Lead for Pain and Anxiety Control in the Undergraduate Dentistry program, and Program Director of the Bristol University Open Learning for Dentistry (BUOLD), an initiative to inform and enhance the current practice of dental practitioners. His expertise and experience led him to build the BUOLD program to become the most successful post-registration qualification in the United Kingdom, with nearly 1000 UK dentists holding the Diploma.

Dr. Robb is widely published in the field of sedation, including the most industry recommended UK textbook in the field, and he has been recognized worldwide for his outstanding leadership and commitment to the profession.  In 2015 he was selected as Outstanding Professional of the Year with Who’s Who Among Notable Alumni and in 2016 selected as Top Professional of the Year in Restorative Dentistry with the International Association of Top Professionals.  Dr. Robb is also recognized and lauded for his research and writing on tooth wear. He is on the GDC Specialist list in Special Care Dentistry, and chaired the SDCEP Guidance Development Group. He regularly is invited to speak at industry conferences and events, including as keynote speaker of the 14th Triennial International Dental Congress on Anesthesia Sedation and Pain Control of the International Federation of Dental Anesthesiology Societies. He remains as an active member with the British Dental Association, Society for the Advancement of Anesthesia in Dentistry, Dental Sedation Teachers Group, Association of Dental Anesthetists and the European Federation for the Advancement of Anesthesia in Dentistry.

Dr. Robb earned his Bachelor of Dental Science from the University of Edinburgh in 1982 and he received his PhD for a thesis entitled “Epidemiological Studies of Toothwear” from the University of London in 1992. Upon completion of his degree, Dr. Robb held hospital posts in Edinburgh, Rotherham and Leeds. Academically, he served as Clinical Research Assistant at UMDS, Lecturer at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne, and Senior Lecturer at UWCM and the University of Glasgow. He is an Honorary Consultant in Restorative Dentistry (first appointed in Cardiff in October 1998, and runs the clinical sedation service within Bristol Dental Hospital.

Looking back, Dr. Robb attributes his success to his driving desire to further the knowledge and understanding of pain and anxiety control in dentistry. Outside of work, Dr. Robb enjoys singing classical music and has a passion for cycling and sports cars.  For the future he wants to continue to grow as a professional and continue his work and contributions to the restorative dental industry.

Atlanta, Georgia – 04 August, 2016 – Songwriter and music producer Terry Coffey, is perhaps best known for composing the popular “Always Coca-Cola,” jingle from the 1990’s that helped increase Coca-Cola’s Global Market Share by an astounding 14%. However, the composer has now entered the literary field as Terrance Coffey and his debut novel “Valley of the Kings: The 18th Dynasty,” is not only a new Amazon-Kindle Scout selection, but it’s also the 2016 International Pacific Book Award winner for Best Historical Fiction.

Starting out his adult life as a high school dropout, Terry Coffey had everything going against him when he decided to leave his native city of Chicago for Los Angeles in order to pursue his dream of becoming a music producer and songwriter.

After years of struggling and sometimes turning up homeless, a chance encounter led to a meeting with his mentor, the iconic music maestro Quincy Jones, who embraced his musical talent. Commenting about Coffey, Mr. Jones is quoted as saying, “he knows everything from Stravinsky to street music.” The encounter led to other meetings that eventually put Coffey in the hands of the Hollywood talent agency CAA, who was subsequently responsible for spearheading his “Always Coca-Cola” jingle with the Coca-Cola corporation to a major success.

Fast forward, over two decades later, Coffey’s fascination with ancient Egyptian history inspired him to take a hiatus from his music career while he focused on writing ‘Valley of the Kings; an historical fiction novel that gives the reader a true sense of what it was like to experience the betrayals, curses, murderous jealousies, plagues, politics, hidden heretics, and foreign enemies through the life story of three generations of Egyptian pharaohs.

After several years of research and another two years of writing and editing, he submitted his manuscript to Kindle Scout, Amazon’s new crowdsourced publishing program where readers help decide if a book receives a publishing contract. “I was really shocked when I received the notice from Amazon that my manuscript was chosen,” recounted Coffey. “Prior to entering, an editor I used had called the book “vulgar” and said that Amazon would never sell it. For that reason, along with the observation that there were many established best-selling authors who submitted and were not chosen, I assumed I didn’t have a chance.”

Coffey was wrong, and the novel is now a featured book on Amazon, published under their Kindle Press imprint. To date, Coffey’s ‘Valley of the Kings: The 18th Dynasty’ has not only received stellar reviews from Goodreads and Amazon reviewers, respected editorial reviewers like Kirkus Reviews wrote, “Coffey has a knack for turning historical figures (even those with unpronounceable names) into living people the reader can love, hate, or feel ambivalent about.”
