Filmmakers capture the hardships of surviving off the grid in secret.

Brooklyn, New York, United States – May 9, 2016 – Surviving The Unknown, a documentary horror film that follows the struggles of a family trying to survive the harsh elements of living off the grid in secrecy. To share this eye-opening experience with the world, filmmakers Jairus Cobb and Shannon Biggs of ArgleBargle Films studio launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise $10,000 by June 3, 2016. The funds received will be used to cover crew expenses and editing costs. 

The film is a true story about Chris and his family deciding to pack up and move to the middle of nowhere leaving behind their great societal lives. This sudden move was prompted by a mysterious warning that had been ignored early on. A few years back, Chris gained access to a safe deposit box left by his grandfather. Inside the box was an old stone with unusual markings and a letter. The letter explained the history of the stone and gave him strict instructions never to speak of it to anyone. The item was dismissed as a stupid myth and was stored away. 

Years later, Chris violated the instructed silence by allowing the stone relic to be examined. Soon after, he realized the true power of the stone and began to believe that the myth was real. Fear of the unseen force along with the instinct to protect his family forced the decision to disappear into non-existence. They now live in the Adirondack Mountains on six million acres of vast wilderness hoping to escape the reach of this dark force. 

Surviving in the wilderness is no easy task. With limited resources, confusion of their sudden move and isolation from society is beginning to tear the family apart. Chris’ two older children are growing more impatient and unhappy as time goes by. His wife is trying her best to be the rock for the kids because of the need for the family to remain strong and stick together. The youngest child, Jake, has recently made new “friends” in this unknown area that has worried everyone.

Financial Experts Speak To Social Security Loopholes that Helped Optimize Benefits Shut Down as of May 1, 2016

Three options that helped people optimize their Social Security benefits for years, came to an end May 1, 2016, as rule changes incorporated into the November 2015 bipartisan budget act, took effect. Retirees can still expect Social Security to play an important role in their retirement income plan.

JACKSONVILLE, FL – 09 May, 2016 – As of May 1, 2016, a Social Security rule that had allowed spouses to use a “file-and-suspend” option to assist in optimizing their Social Security benefits is longer be available. The change, part of a November 2015 bipartisan budget act of 2015, means that spouses who had planned to coordinate benefits in order to increase the overall amount of income they receive from Social Security no longer have that option.

In addition, people older than age 66 who filed for benefits and suspended them in order to increase their payout rate later are no longer able to receive a retroactive lump sum payment if they change their mind and cancel the suspension before age 70. These latest cuts to Social Security options were added to previous rule changes that closed other strategic filing options in 2015, in order to save money in the Social Security program.

According to Anthony Kurnellas, President of Omnitrust Financial Group in Jacksonville Florida, the file-and-suspend strategy gave couples the opportunity to increase their combined benefits by allowing one spouse to file for Social Security benefits upon reaching the full retirement age of 66 and immediately suspend their benefits to accrue delayed retirement credits at a rate of 8 percent annually to age 70. When the other spouse retired, the one who suspended their benefits could claim a spousal benefit while their deferred Social Security benefits grew. Still, the rule changes don’t spell doom and gloom, he says.

“It’s really a small change, but Social Security for the most part isn’t changing,” Kurnellas, an investment advisor and insurance professional, says. “This new rule affects about 9 percent of the population, but one of the things I have to stress is that baby boomers still need to be informed about Social Security claiming options because it’s still an important part of their plan for retirement income.”

Although the file-and-suspend option was originally put in place to encourage older people to continue working through age 70, it became a popular strategy among financial advisors for helping retirees increase their Social Security income.

As of May 1, the option is no longer available, a move many pre-retirees and retirees never saw coming. While the loss of the file-and-suspend strategy gained the most attention leading up to the May 1 deadline, the fact is that retirees are actually losing three separate Social Security claiming options.

After May 1, retirees who had not reached age 66 by April 30, 2016 must file for Social Security and actually collect their benefits in order for their husband or wife to receive a spousal benefit. Those who were at least 66 older by April 30, 2016 are still able to take advantage of the file-and-suspend option, as they are grandfathered in under the new rules.

The second option eliminated was the filing of restricted applications, which allowed individuals between age 66 and 70 to file a restricted application to claim spousal benefits and defer their own benefits until age 70. Upon reaching 70, they could switch from receiving spousal benefits to their own, higher benefits.

Since May 1, when a spouse files anytime after age 62, he or she will fall under the “deemed filing” rule, which previously applied only to individuals who filed before their full retirement age.

With the elimination of restricted applications and the inception of deemed filing for all ages, a spouse can only receive either their spousal benefit or their own benefit, whichever is larger. Once they choose an option, they will not be able to change their mind—which means they will not be able to defer benefits until age 70 and then switch options for a larger monthly payment. However, anyone who reached age 62 by the end of 2015 was grandfathered in and eligible to stick with the old rules for restricted applications.

The third change relates to suspended benefits, which had allowed individuals who had suspended their benefits to unsuspend them before reaching age 70 and request a lump sum payment retroactive back to their filing date. That is, an individual who retired at age 66 and suspended his or her Social Security benefits to age 70 could retroactively end the benefit suspension if they had a serious medical condition or other financial strain and needed immediate access to their benefits. As of May 1, anyone who decides to end their benefit suspension before turning 70 will lose the remaining retirement credits they would have received if they had deferred payments to age 70, and will not be able to receive a lump sum payment. Instead, Social Security will begin sending their monthly payments at a higher rate, reflecting interest accrued during the period of time their benefits were suspended.

Individuals affected by the new rules can plan ahead to compensate for any impact they may have to their retirement income plans.

Individuals who do choose to defer payments until age 70 will still receive the 8 percent deferred income credits upon reaching 70.

“One of the main things I stress when people come to see me is to plan ahead, beginning with a budget that reflects how much income they’ll need to pay their bills and enjoy their retirement,” Kurnellas says. “They still need to incorporate Social Security benefits in their entire plan, look at what other income they have coming in and work in other Social Security scenarios.

“I also stress that they need to factor in inflation, because Social Security is a really good benefit because it does adjust with inflation,” he says. “If people defer payments past age 66, for every year past 66 you still get an 8 percent credit, your Social Security is going to increase by 8 percent but it’s 8 percent that is going to be compounded with your cost of living adjustment for the rest of your life, so you’re getting more money in your pocket.”

Even deferring benefits for just one year, he says, means retirees can end up with an extra $20,000 if they live to be 87 years old, and deferring their benefits for just one year may not be a hardship for many.

While the rule changes are significant, Kurnellas stresses that they won’t affect how Social Security benefits are calculated.

“The core benefits are not changing,” he says. “There is no change in how anyone’s benefits are calculated.”

“I founded my record label in December 2015. I want find new, young and talented musicians from all over the world and help them share their music. She discusses what parts of the home the seller should focus on, the repairs that should always be made, some inexpensive fixes and common misconceptions sellers may have when it comes time to list their home.  The most important thing a seller can do at the beginning of the selling experience, according to Laurie, is to shift their mindset to viewing their house as a product that can be shined up to sell.  By removing the emotional aspect from the equation, sellers can embrace the changes that need to be made in order to make the greatest profit from the sale.  The first recommendation Ms. Dau made is to have the sellers have a pre-inspection completed on their home before listing so as to have an idea of what major systems may need repair or replacement.  By tackling these things preemptively, the seller can save themselves from potential exaggerated estimates when buyers have their own inspections done. 

She also suggests “thinking like a minimalist” and de-cluttering one’s home prior to having pictures taken or showings.  All personal and decorative items should be packed away so as to allow potential buyers to envision their own things within the home. Curb appeal plays a large factor in how buyers feel walking up to the home and fresh paint on the door and a new door mat can go a long way in making the home a welcoming one.  Often, sellers want to save their money for expenditures on their new homes but Laurie suggests that some inexpensive fixes, such as changing out door knobs and fixtures and some fresh paint can upgrade the look of a whole room.  She warns sellers to not go overboard with upgrades for which they would see little to no return but reiterates the importance of making sure there are no maintenance issues within the house.  In the interview, Ms. Dau does recommend the hire of a professional to do a deep clean- with a special focus on the kitchen and bathrooms- to make a good impression on potential buyers.

“Feng Shui techniques create that emotional attachment that is necessary to get an offer,” explains Kodad. “When any of the items are not addressed properly, I found I got fewer offers and often low ones that were hard to work out.”

According to a national survey conducted by Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate, eighty-six percent of the respondents indicated feng shui would play a role in a future home buying decision. Seventy-nine percent would be willing to invest more money for a home that incorporates feng shui principles.

In addition to directing music at Trinity, Smith teaches choir and music at Marshall University, directs several productions of Community Theater, and arranges and conducts the music for, the nationally acclaimed singer, Landau Murphy, the winner of America’s Got Talent in 2011. And that’s if he’s in the United States. He recently toured Spain with the Marshall University Chamber Choir.

Several years ago, Trinity developed a musical scholarship program to support music students at Marshall University. The benefits are apparent. Trinity now has a fantastic choir under the leadership of Mark Smith; and a host of wonderful music concerts throughout the year. Their use of music as a form of outreach and support of their local community falls within Trinity’s various ministries to support their community.

The Presiding Bishop of the Episcopal Church has stated that, the Episcopal Church should share what he calls the “Jesus Movement”.

April’s Business For Sale Deals Up 14% Over Last Year Says BizBen Index

DUBLIN, CA – 10 May, 2016 – California business for sale transactions for this April are up 14% over the previous April, it was reported by the BizBen Index. The number of transactions completed in the month of April this year reached 1,362 compared to the 1,193 of 2015. The 1,362 completed transactions represents a slight decrease from the total sold last month, but so far this year sales are up 12.6% over last year.

“I think what we are seeing with the increase in small business for sale transactions this year is that the economy, specifically the California economy, is improving.’ said Peter Siegel, MBA, Founder and President of BizBen.com, parent of the BizBen Index.

Siegel explained, “Because of the improved economy both in California and nationwide, we are seeing more small business owners decide that now is the time to sell and more buyers willing to invest.”

Other reasons for the improved sales rate, according to Siegel, are easier access to business purchase loans from both SBA-backed and non-SBA lenders, and increased willingness of buyers and sellers to commit to a transaction as they see the economy improving.

Siegel also noted, “As I’ve said in the past, when we see an increase in business for sale transactions, it’s a good sign for the California economy. It shows that both buyers and sellers are confident in the future and confidence is a major factor in the willingness of people to invest.”

“If the economy continues to improve and current lending practices stay stable we just may see a record year for small business for sale transactions.”

Larger Counties With Improved Sales

Among large Southern California Counties reporting growth in the sale of small and mid-market businesses last month are Los Angeles County with 318 transactions, Orange County posting 163 completed business transfers last month, a gain of nearly 23% over the 132 transactions posted the previous April; and San Diego County with a rate of sales increase of 26% to 141 sales last month vs. 103 the previous year.

The BizBen Index reported growth last month in some of the largest Northern California counties including San Francisco where 54 sales were completed compared to 52 deals the previous April, and Santa Clara County, posting 71 deals last month vs. 66 during April 2015.

US Megaquake to Initiate Dollar Crash and End Times on May 22, Says Expert Richard Ruhling

PRESCOTT AZ – 10 May, 2016 – A San Andreas/San Jacinto Earthquake is expected May 22, before millions of websites say the dollar will crash. (May 28, Google) Seismologists warn that the San Andreas Fault is “locked and loaded.” The San Jacinto Fault Zone includes San Bernardino, Riverside, San Diego counties and it’s thought to have ruptured with the San Andreas 200 years ago. May 22 is biblical timing. Christ warn, “as the days of Noah.” He linked that same timing to money trouble in Matthew 25, says end-time prophecy expert, Dr. Richard Ruhling who looks for a warning event on May 17, also “as the days of Noah.”

The world glorifies science and scoffs at the Bible, but biblical timing of this earthquake to initiate end-times could remind us that God is the Author of science, and without the aid of Scripture, scientists often misinterpret the data, says Dr. Ruhlng who earned three science degrees before teaching at Loma Linda University.

He cites Christ who said leaders could read the weather but not discern the “signs of the times.” Still true, Ruhling contends that we have misunderstood Christ’s sayings that we can’t know the day or hour.

The Greek word for ‘know’ is eido, and it means to be aware, consider or understand. He was saying, You don’t understand. Each time He said it, He gave an example, “as the days of Noah,” for Passover (the biblical time for judgment) to come a month later as provided in the law of Numbers 9.

Israelites didn’t travel in winter. If they took a long journey and couldn’t get back for Passover, they were to keep it the 2nd spring month. In addition to this example of Noah’s time, Ruhling says three of Christ’s closing parables link to this ‘long-journey’ provision.

The “goodman” was on a long journey in Proverbs 7 (King James) and doesn’t come till the yom kece—full moon. Passover comes on a full moon, but a long journey means 2nd Passover – May 21/22, 2016.

We should “watch and pray” in order to be protected as Christ taught, says Ruhling. The goodman had his house broken (earthquake for us?) for not watching. The Greek word is gregoreo, and it means to be awake. Passover was the only night in the year Israel was to be awake, praying God would pass over them in judgment.

The same provision for a long journey ties Christ’s last two parables together. When five virgins missed the wedding, He said “watch, you don’t [understand]…it’s like a man traveling to a far country” and that last parable included a money shortage when the slothful servant didn’t know when to expect his master—he lost his talent (dollar crash?) The wise stewards were ready; maybe they understood 2nd Passover?

Ruhling says the master is Christ who took a long journey to heaven. His return (invisibly in judgment and for the wedding opportunity) must conform to the law that He said is in effect till heaven and earth pass. A huge event on 2nd Passover should convince Jews that Daniel’s 9th chapter was right re Messiah’s timing and so was Isaiah (53) right in portraying Him as a lamb. He accepted death at Passover for us.

Ruhling says the wedding parables are misunderstood as a rapture. God “executed judgment” on Egypt and took Israel to a covenant, later saying, “I am married to you…” He regarded the covenant as like a marriage relationship. The apostle Paul cited the Exodus as an example for us in 1Corinthians 10. Ruhling says the US has many parallels to Egypt like their killing infants as we have the unborn and we’re due for judgment.

A judgment event on May 22 would be a message for the world that economy shouldn’t be manipulated by greedy policies or politicians. Solomon said, “Righteousness exalts a nation…Fear God and keep His commandments.”

God’s commandments say nothing about global warming as an excuse to honor Sunday (Laudato Si’ paragraph 237) for church attendance in spite of Pope Francis’ appeal to US Congress and UN General Assembly. Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion,” Ruhling reminds politicians of the 1st Amendment and says banksters and the elite who hope to gain world control will see their cookie crumble.

He thinks a warning, “as the days of Noah,” may help us. Noah and the animals entered the ark on the 10th day of the 2nd month. Counting from the new moon crescent, we may be warned by an event on May 17. If so, it would be a good time to do a bank withdrawal and consider further information…
