Colorado Springs, CO – Strong teams are the foundation of successful companies. Companies like Amazon, Google, and Apple have demonstrated that creating a company culture that rewards initiative and innovation will result in improved performance and exponentially increase profits. Respected leadership and performance consultant Malachi Thompson has worked with companies all over the US to help corporate leadership develop the type of productive strategies that will boost performance and raise revenue.
“Motivated performers working together towards a common goal have the power to boost productivity and innovation and improve the bottom line of any business,” explains Thompson. “Modern businesses have begun to realize that sweatshop conditions don’t increase profits, motivated employees do. I work with companies to help them boost team performance and create a positive and cooperative corporate culture.”
Thompson insists that a shift in energy doesn’t necessarily have to begin with a pep rally; there are several simple, practical changes that can be made to begin that process:
First, make goals and objectives clear from the beginning using timetables and benchmarks that are accessible and visible to all team members. “The worst thing a team lead can do is be vague when setting expectations,” says Thompson. Next, improve the work environment to make it more comfortable for employees and/or consider telework options for members who demonstrate superior performance. Last, show constructive attention. “Printing off sheets of paper with an award on it once a year no longer cuts it,” he explains. “Sending them to training, holding one-on-one meetings to tell them what a good job they are doing—these are the things that make a difference to employees.”
A good leader is someone who can motivate a small group of people to go that extra mile, and Thompson insists that this begins by showing an appreciation for employees and the work they do. Reducing meetings, eliminating micromanagement, and empowering employees to make decisions good for the organization are all additional things that can be done to shift corporate culture to one of innovation and positivity.
“One of the things I try to do when I work with an organization is to make everyone aware of how little it takes to motivate employees,” Thompson says. “Not all the changes an organization needs to make involve money. Each of us wants to feel valued and trusted. When we feel like we’re respected we are excited to go to work. Simple things like thanking people and calling attention to people who meet their goals all matter.”
Thompson provides a plethora of services, such as consulting, coaching, strategy sessions, keynotes speeches, and roundtable hosting. He enjoys working with small to large businesses who want to take their bottom line to the next level.
