    An architectural drawing shows planned updates to the exterior of the Marriott Courtyard hotel at 6610 International
    Elevation Hotel Management of Colorado Springs begins renovations of the El Paso, Texas Marriott Courtyard in May.

    APRIL 19, 2018 – EL PASO, TEXAS – Colorado-based Elevation Hotel Management, which took over the management of three hotels in El Paso from TVO North America earlier this year, is investing $2.4 million to renovate the Marriott Courtyard hotel near the airport.

    Elevation, a subsidiary of ASI Capital, plans to begin work in May. Renovations include updates to the exterior of the hotel, the hotel’s 90 rooms and the lobby.

    “Marriott has given us until the end of September to complete that project,” said Michelle Kaip, president of Elevation Hotel Management. “It will be about five months of a lot of projects, but we have that planned out.”

    The Courtyard hotel will remain open during renovations, Kaip said.

    In December, the company assumed management of the Courtyard at 6610 International, the Holiday Inn at 900 Sunland Park, and the Hilton Garden Inn at 111 W. University, from TVO North America, which has been hit with allegations of theft and fraud.

    “That hotel was built in 2002 and has had no renovations to the sleeping rooms or to the exterior. It went through a small renovation in the lobby area,” Kaip said. “It’s in need of this renovation and is really going to rebrand that hotel.”

    Elevation Hotel Management just finished its $150,000 renovation of the Hilton Garden Inn lobby. The company also invested $1.5 million to renovate the Holiday Inn with support from Legna International Trade, which provided a $700,000 investment.

    Kaip said ASI Capital has been in El Paso for almost a decade and is interested in growing it’s footprint here.

    “Beyond the three hotels, ASI Capital is investing in some medical facilities as well as multifamily projects,” said Clem Borkowski, Managing Partner of ASI Capital. “Our interests in El Paso is not just in hospitality, but in several sectors. We’ve been investing in the city for going on a decade, and are very proud of how the city has positively responded to our participation in it’s growth.”

One year later, we are presented with the opportunity to look back and make an assessment of the project’s development since this initial fundraiser and look forward to what we will see next from iExec.

    Firstly, what is iExec?

    iExec is developing a decentralized marketplace network that will connect application developers in need computing power to resource providers. The iExec network will be a free marketplace, developed on top the Ethereum blockchain where ‘smart contracts’ allow for trading computing resources with the highest level of transparency, resiliency and security. Currently, iExec employs around 20 people and the team is gradually strengthening, being made up of world-class blockchain hackers, business developers and marketing specialists.

    iExec’s unique selling point is the innovation of their consensus protocol named “Proof Of Contribution” or ‘PoCo’ that is essential for a fair and decentralized infrastructure.

    A record breaking ICO

    In just 3 hours, iExec achieved its original target of raising 10,000 Bitcoin ($12 million) from investors around the world. At the time, it was the 5th largest cryptocurrency fundraiser to date. Participating investors then held ‘RLC’ tokens. RLC is a utility token that will be used to access the resources of its market network. It is the unique method of payment between application providers, server providers and data providers. The RLC tokens were distributed in limited supply, so investors can hope to see an increase in the value of their holdings when demand for RLC increases as the marketplace grows with an increasing number of transactions, registered apps and active users. iExec is listed in various cryptocurrency exchanges globally. The token can be traded in exchange for fiat (state-issued) currency or a variety of other digital currencies such as Bitcoin or Ether.

    The founders of the company were also invited by IBM to present the project at the latest edition of IBM Think in Las Vegas.

    V.2 Launch and Ubisoft Partnership

    iExec V.1 saw the release of the ‘Dapp’ store, a listing of decentralized applications that can execute their computations using providers on the network. This release also included a software development kit allowed for developers to build their decentralized applications to be able to run on top of iExec. The Dapp store features applications that can execute computational tasks on iExec’s network such as Signals, Request, Flixxo or Shopin. iExec held the ‘Dapp Challenge’, a contest in which the most innovative developments would be featured in the Dapp store and awarded $150,000 to fund their projects. iExec have also signed partnership deals with server providers Cloud&Heat and Stimergy, who’s green approach reuses heat produced by servers to heat water for homes.

    iExec is also proud to be taking part in Ubisoft’s acceleration program, where the project can benefit from the experience and insights of one of the world’s leading video game companies.

    Global car rental company Green Motion has utilised the International Car Rental Show in Las Vegas to launch and showcase its latest innovation – the new Green Motion ‘Drive & Go’ service, which allows customers who have booked through the Green Motion app to benefit from the new Straight to Car service; using their phone as a key and bypassing the counter completely.

    London, United Kingdom – 19 April, 2018 – Green Motion’s new Drive & Go service is fully integrated into their app and once the customer has pre-registered their information, they are able to select the Straight to Car service. On arrival at their destination, the app advises the customer of the location of the vehicle. Once they arrive at the vehicle, they are able to simply open the vehicle with one press of the app. Following a vehicle inspection (self-check), the customer can then disarm the immobiliser and simply ‘drive and go’. The procedure is repeated when returning the vehicle where the customer is requested to do a self check-in process, following which they can close the reservation and lock the car.
